Just seems like an all around good guy. He seems to have his head on straight, he seems kind, and I think he deserves all the talent that he has been blessed with. I am older than Justin Hunter and I think I could learn a lot from him in the character department. So, enough with the sunshine pumping.....

Could you root for Justin Hunter even if he played for your most hated rival?

I never rooted for Tebow...does that answer your question?

Oh come on.... That is gross. Don't be gross, you gross person. I probably should have said another team instead of most hated. I was kinda looking for a little praise for a guy that has yet to sink below the Da'Rick saga limits.

No doubt Hunter is awesome. My point is, if he wasn't wearing orange I wouldn't be a big fan. Tebow, by all accounts, is a great person, but I never cheered for him. So I wouldn't likely cheer for Justin if he was on another team. Sorry for being so "gross." :hi:

I probably wouldn't cheer for him. I would respect him as a person though. Just as i do Tebow. I can respect what they are trying to do and wish them the best in what they are trying to do, but actively cheer for them I wouldn't do.

I would root for him. Its kinda hard to say though cause if he wasn't in orange would you know as much about him? Jh isn't really a national super star per se bc of a limited (yet spectacular) freshman campaign and bc his sophomore season ended early and abruptly. So let's say he played for Virginia but his career was exactly the same. You probably wouldn't see a bunch of Espn features on him so your info would be limited which leads to indifference.

But I can and do root for players not on our team. I rooted for rg3 to win the heisman. I hope dallas gets a good cb from the sec this year I can root for. Hell, I love Emmit smith except for the fact he played for florida. Its not a big deal to like a player as a person. You can still hate the team they play for.

On the flip side, let's take a vol like jason witten. Arguably the best te in the game. A lot of people on here hate the cowboys, but do they stop rooting for jason bc he plays for them? Or do they remain proud of him for where he came from and how he conducts himself both on and off the field?

There are quite a few that will not give a flip once they leave the hill; however, I am very proud of Hunter playing at UT. I just wish he got as much press as the ones that seem to show UT in a negative light.

I hated Tebow when he was at UF because he owned us, but he's hard not to root for now - shows nothing but class, and I have to admit, he is fun to watch. No Homo

I agree, and I think if he stays healthy this year he will be getting plenty of the press he deserves. Unfortunately its often that people love the villain more than the hero.

That's the only reason I love batman.... His Villians rock!

Screw hypotheticals. But to answer your question I don't root for Tebow(then and now).

Why don't you mention guys who have actually been kicked off the team for being a dummy?

We have plenty of examples: Morley(twice), Jackson, Vinson, Banks, etc, etc...

I dont root for tebow for 2 reasons. 1 is im not into all his hype, he's still not a very good qb. 2 is I dont believe you have to be religious to have good character. He has, with the aid of the media, built this persona of good boy christian values makes god win me football games. And that gets forced on you every time they talk about him on sportscenter. I dont care for the bible thumping.
