It's very good for normal person, but it's not like amazing or anything for a WR. I mean it really is good, but I just expected it to be alot higher for Hunter. I am sure he will get it up around 39 or 40 by the time he is getting ready for the NFL.

Mine was 39 in high school. (A long, long time ago.)

I just looked the same thing up and seen that. I was about to say I highly doubt he had a 48 inch vertical jump. That would be ridiculous.

Eric Berry had a 43 inch vertical jump at the combine last year I think. I would have thought that Hunter would have a higher vertical than that. I know Eric Berry is Eric Berry, but Hunter can jump over everybody with the pads on.

The thing to remember with Hunter is he can hit that 37.5 from a full sprint. Thats where he stands out.

Yes, obviously you can. I was just saying I was very surprised by Brewer's time. He didn't look that fast in games. And although I know Janzen could run, I didn't think he was a burner like that. A 4.32 is ridiculous. Eric Berry just ran a 4.47 at the NFL combine.

I seem to recall that Lucas Taylor and Josh Briscoe recorded sub-4.4 times when timed by UT. The combine is a different story. It's interesting to see how fast our guys are in comparison to each other though. Have any other times been posted?

I hope that him missing Spring practice won't slow down his growth as a player. I also hope that he doesn't sustain an injury during track....

There is a huge disparity between hand-timed 40s and combine computer-timed 40s. Usually you can add about .1 to .15 seconds to a hand-timed 40 to get what it'd be at the combine.

Also, every CB, every Safety, 8 LBs (of 10), 4 DL (of 10), 3 TE (of 6), 5 RB (of 14) and 7 WR (of 10) bested 37.5" Verticals.

Hardesty got a 41" and Berry got a 43". Like pull-ups, though, it's mostly technique and a lot of people added 4-5" to their Vertical by just by being taught the optimal technique. What does it matter?

It impresses scouts. Hunter, though, has shown (along with Green) among the most vertical presence of a WR in the last several years. It seems that anything with 3 yards of him is a catch.

Exactly. And Calvin Johnson was the No.1 overall selection, too. That tells you something. We lucked out BIG time with him. And we thought DaRick was the pick of the litter.

1.Russell was first overall.

2. Don't sleep on Rogers he'll have a breakout year. I loved when we went deep to Hunter one play and he jumped over the guy but made the catch out of bounds. Then the very next play we went deep for a TD to Rogers. Superman and Spiderman on the edges. I think they'll be the best tandem in football by their Junior years.

That's funny, I'll bet JJClark (UT T & F Director) is thinking..."I hope he doesn't sustain an injury during football..." He is seeing NCAA points in maybe three events.

just ran a 4.32 40. the dudes got some serious wheels. def has the potential to be one of the greatest in Orange after everything is said and done.

somebody may have already figured this out, but that is close to 19 mph, probably breaking the campus speed limit.

I would not discount Rogers! The kid will put on a show next year!
When you add Hunters length to his jump you have something special!

Da'Rick has a chance to be a great receiver over the middle due to his size.

They are going to compliment each other extremely well
