I know I'm a UT homer, but can anyone name an SEC receiver with more hype and excitement other than maybe Alshon at USCjr? Our boy Justin is gonna be a star the next 2-3 years.

Why not "Justin Hunter wins long jump by almost a meter" in the title line....or something like that?

I'd change it if I could but a mod will have to. Anyway, seeing some of these responses make not changing it entertaining.

It would be fun to see this turn into a thread of funny headline suggestions like that.

Justin hunter- decided to forego his last 3 years as a student athlete and go be a missionary in Australia and teach rugby to orphans

Back in the 60's Tennessee had Richmond Flowers All-SEC at FB and champion hurdler...then there was Willie Gault...and Sam Graddy...Leonard Scott...Justin Hunter fits right in there and he will be a sure bet to be one of the future USA Olympians...

If he can add 5 inches to that during the season at some point he would have a long enough jump to qualify for the olympic trials automatically based on 2008 qualifying criteria.

11 more inches to 27 feet would have made the olympic team at trials.

Wait until next year, he'll have a season of track under his belt and no one will be able to see or catch him on the field. NASTY!

So, I just got out a 25 foot tape just to get a visual of how far that really is. Almost seems un-possible. Thats a freakin long way lol. Way to go JH.

Possible? Of course. "Sure bet". I don't think you're giving Olympians enough credit.

Man, I'm so glad Dooley found Justin. He's really going to be special for us....

Let's not rewrite history. Hunter was very highly rated and was already being recruited by UT, as well as several other big time programs, well before Dooley was hired here. Kiffin most likely would not have been able to sign Hunter. Credit Dooley with that, but he didn't "find" Hunter.

That suggests Hunter was just another one of Dooley's under the radar two or three star players. It also fuels the myth Dooley has attempted to create that he has some special gift for "player evaluation" which makes idiots of all the scouts, recruiting analysts, and other coaches who (if you believe the myth) do not know how to read a stop watch or tape measure.

I point this out only because I want Dooley and staff to recruit the very best prospects to UT... NO EXCUSES. I am one who will be satisfied with nothing less than excellence at Tennessee. That includes recruiting.

Hunter was already coming here pretty much regardless of who our coach was, at least in football.
