The cliche is said all the time but still holds truth, Everybody's favorite person is the back-up QB. He makes no mistakes bc he doesnt play often.
Simms was playing against GAs #1s while Bray played against their 2s and 3s. You cant rate his performance as deserving of a starting position.
He is a good QB, and I believe after more time in the system, that he will be our starter next year or even at the end of this season depending on how everything turns out. Right now though, Simms is the better option. He has more experience, in this system as well as in college ball. He got here before Bray did. And he is older and a leader of this team. The players say it all of the time. He's got some release issues to work on and he needs better protection but I think Simms will be our guy until season's end, more than likely.
You remember when everybody was saying that Stephens was better than Crompton and we should start him? I do, because I was one of the guys saying it.
Then they decided to put him in against Wyoming... we all know how that ended. These coaches have been involved in this sport longer than a lot of us have been and I think it's safe to say that they will make the best decission.
Im not trying to be a homer for Simms, I bought a Bray jersey in the Spring, that how I was feeling about it all, but I think the kid needs more time to learn the system and he will be a great leader next year. Especially after the HGH and steriods he gets this summer... lol
