Just when you thought this team could not play any worse......

i have never been so humbled as a vol fan in my life. unacceptable.

but hey, the good news is ... the first year of the pruitt rebuild is almost over. only 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 left to go.
and that wouldn't be so bad if we weren't 12 years into "rebuild."

Breaks my heart to say, but I am ready for the season to be over. These seniors have no fight in them and the underclassmen are just as bad.

Fulmer has his work cut out for him. First off, Helton has to go. Our offensive play calling is just that, offensive! Second, Pruitt has2 more years to show he can get a team ready to play each and every week, not just 2 Saturday's a year.

This is without a doubt the worst play calling I have ever seen, for a major division football program. This blocking sucks, the tackling sucks, but the mellow offensive play calling is absolutely absurd. If Pruitt does not hire an offensive corrd. that knows what he is doing, his tenure will be short lived at Tennessee. Now, this is at halftime, but I have seen enough. I will finish watching Alabama and Auburn............I have been a Vol fan for 60 years. This is pathetic and is a waste of time watching on tv.

So embarrassing that the Vols ever got so low that Vandy is even competitive with them. Given the extreme difference in quality of athletic facilities, this game should never be close. There's high schools with better stuff than Vandy. Just sickening how low Vols have fallen.

Make sure you send Jimmy Haslam a Christmas card and thank him this year.

I’ve done turned off the tv. I’m not wasting my day off watching trash.

I done that twice already, but keep coming back out of morbid curiosity. Kinda like knowing a train wreck is coming. Unbelievable any team can play this poorly.

True, but we traditionally always beat them. We don't respect them or Missouri and in this down period, we lose because we are not good when we just show up. We are more talented than either of those teams, but now we lack depth. We are just worn out. This game is Vandy's big game. For us, it's just the last game. We barely beat them most years when we were good. We always won because we could just show up and pull a rabbit out in the last few minutes to win. Yeah, we blew them out every once in a while, but now we aren't that good, and it's not that they are better, it's just they are motivated like it's their most important game of the year, while we are still just showing up. Showing up will not beat Vandy anymore.

Couple abysmal coaching and 3 star talent and this is what you get. How are these guys not jacked for a rivalry game with a bowl game on the line?

Pathetic.

I have a feeling we are going to be looking for a new coach 2-3 years from now. I know it’s too early of course to be saying this, but I just have a feeling that CJP is one of those guys who is a lot better as a coordinator than as a head coach. There are a lot of great coordinators who just don’t work out as head coaches. Then you have a few rare guys like Dabo that are better at being the head coach than being a coordinator. I just think that if Pruitt was the guy, we would at least see the team fired up for this game, not being all lethargic like they don’t even want to be there.

This team has quit. Showing no fight, no pride, no ability. Also, doesn't look like the coaches watched any film on Vandy.

I was willing to give Pruitt a chance but when:
-- you are playing for a bowl game
--playing the instate team that has won last two games in series
--Your fans show up and take over the opponent's stadium

And your team comes out this uninspired and this unprepared, you aren't getting the job done. Sadly, it appears as if the Vol fans are 2 to 3 years away from another coaching search. Just hope they will spend the money to get a proven HC next time. Spend hundreds of millions of dollars on facilities but go bargain basement hunting for head coaches in the sport that pays the bills.
Nailed it.

No better than Butch's first season in 13 and I'd argue we have more talent. Pathetic.
Butch inherited NFL talent on the OLine (and 2 QBs who also went to the NFL). He left us with a mess of mismatch talent that hasn’t been developed (most the players looked decent as freshmen and got worse the longer his staff “coached” them.

Watching today, I don’t think many players improved much this year. The defense still can’t tackle or stop a team on 2rd down. The offense still has way too many 3 and outs. The lines struggle to block and the QB underthrows most his passes (WR has to stop and come back instead of catching in stride). ETSU built a team from scratch faster than we’ve been able to rebuild after Fulmer was fired mid season

These players did not want to practice the month of December and spend the holidays in Memphis at the Liberty Bowl. That was so obvious.
