Dixon may have a decent NFL career. Wouldn't be surprised if he works out better in the League than Tebow. Stewart should be OK as well. On D, Haloti Ngata is doing OK.
Yeah, except the '10 Gator squad isn't even slightly similar to the 07 and 08 gator squads, both of which averaged 40+ ppg. Not only is the offense entirely different, but they no longer have the same OC, QB, TE, or any of the WR's that started on that NC team. The Gators have lost 6 offensive starters to the NFL draft since 08.
In the 2009 season, out of the 8 conference games they played, they were held under 30 points six times, two those instances scoring less than 20, and this season the Gators are off to a even rougher start. This IS NOT the same offense as the 08 offense.
Now Oregon, as a programs, pales greatly in comparison to the Gators. However, as far as offensive terminology and execution is concerned, Chip Kelly edges out Steve Addazio.
Every good SPREAD team worth mentioning has had that power runner that struck fear into opposing defenses, Tebow did just that. Now that he's gone, all of a sudden the Gators arn't invincible anymore.
I would agree with that, Stewart has been great for Carolina so far. Time will tell with Dixon, he's gonna have to get a starting job and I am aware he is slated to start for Pittsburgh but who knows how he'll do and when Big Ben comes back he'll be back to riding the bench.
Oregon and Florida flip flopped points/gm and yards/gm in 07, 08, and 09 on national rankings.
What's worth noting is Florida achieved this in the SEC, a conference that, in 2008 had 5 teams in the top 25 nationally in total defense, Florida played 4 of them. The Pac-10 had 2 teams in the top 25 nationally.
Though I must admit, Florida does have an awfully predictable offense under their current OC Addazio --most because he is an idiot. In all honesty I think their defense will have to get it done this season and Addazio will be fired. Under Mullen from '06-'08 I don't think there was a more unpredictable or trick-play oriented offense in college football. It was pretty effective too if i can remember right...
Dumb claim.

Dude, you may be making awesome points or spitting rubbish, I can't tell because all I can do is keep looking at your avatar every time I try reading one of your posts.
Separate: I'm going with "errogance" being on purpose from whomever is posting that. It is an "error" to be "arrogant" or he is "erring" by being "arrogant." He was just combining the words to save space.![]()
I def agree with the NM sucks donkey gonads cause they do. BUT, don't be so arrogant as to think that the playbook is just going to be opened up with a first year starter at the helm before they find out how he reacts under pressure, which he has not seen yet.
Clearly, I'm not talking about the Florida of 07 & 08, as both squads were littered with NFL talent and a coaching staff that'd been together for years. The Gators no longer have that luxury, and at this point, Steve Addazio hasn't proven he can attain similar successes with his schemes and play calling.
Now again, Oregon IS NOT Florida, nor did I ever make such an assertion. They aren't as talented, they aren't as storied a program, they're in an inferior conference, etc. But all that has little bearing on my claims. No matter which way you cut it, Chip Kelly is a better play caller than Steve Addazio. Anyone who dares argue otherwise has never watched either team play.
someone finally gets me lol...I type 90 wpm but its not very accurate, so I have a lot of "errors" lol. I usually catch em and go back and fix em though but I think I'm just gonna leave that one alone.
Thomas knows the full offense completely. True, he hasn't been pressured like he's about to be. But heavily pressuring a QB in a Pro-type O is not the same as pressuring Thomas in this offense.
We don't require the same things of him that Tenn does of Simms. Your boy from El Camino Community College is going to be pressured as well.
Good revision of your previously stupid post. Next time when making a statement on an enemy board it may be worth the effort to sit back and reread what you wrote. Then ask yourself the following:
1) Is this what I'm trying to say?
2) Is my argument clearly stated?
3) Do I have facts to support my claims?
4) Am I even talking about the same thing as the other posters?
If your point was that currently Florida's offense sucks and will be their bane, as it near was several times last season and eventually their downfall in the SEC championship, and that Oregon's 2010 team will have a much better offense that performs and executes at a higher level regardless of competition then I whole-heartedly agree.
Your post fails on the account that UT has not yet played UF in 2010 and does now know what type of offensive scheme they will fail to run under Addazio this season. The only comparisons available are games against the gators in the previous 3 season. Given that scenario your post that Oregon has a more effective and more creative offense than what Tennessee is use to facing in a spread-option format is still dumb.
Now you have totally clarified your claim and we can agree. Addazio is fail, Chip Kelly is very good.
In all honesty Addazio was spared because he still had Tebow on the team. Not having Tebow will hurt the gators more than they can imagine. Losing the spiritual (no pun intended) leader of the team is damaging, they felt like they couldn't lose, now they will feel mortal. That's a big deal.
Losing Tebow from UF's offense is akin to the 98 vols losing al wilson on defense. Simply put neither school has National Championships without those players on their team, it's a big deal.
Addazio had Tebow to save him last year, he will not be so fortunate now.
Chip Kelly seems to be able to plug in players to his system and be successful, which works wonders for the ducks. He does not need a Tim Tebow to rescue him.
Have you ever stopped to think that the SEC Defenses look that good, because the SEC Offenses aren't as good as other conferences? The Pac-10 has some of the most prolific offenses in college football. SEC fans like to claim that their D's are sooo much better. Do a little research and you'll see that the PAC-10 has a winning record vs. the SEC over the past 12 years (12-8). Looks like the PAC handles those vaunted D's just fine.
Just saying....:victory:
