Just watched the McElwain post game interview I am guessing it somewhere near where we keep the dead bodies under the stadium but during the entire interview all I could hear coming from background noise was " IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL " people chanting it over and over again. I think this is outstanding! Without a career and kids I would have been 1 of the 102,455. Would have loved to been able to sing this in person with all of crazy KTown folks. Things are looking up on the hill! GBO!!!

Watched from home and it was just as awesome on the tube. My brother and I kept jumping up and high fiving in the second half (and missing because we're 45 and 47 so we resorted to dabbing to annoy my teenage daughter)

Tim Priest (caught up in the moment I'm sure) said it was probably the best half of football he's seen in 50 years

I was laughing all through the 4th qtr at the 2 UT fans, that must have been sitting close to Verne's and Gary's booth. Every time the gators were on defense I could hear those guys hollering "Taaaabor...Taaaabor!" it was cracking me up though I'm sure Verne was annoyed.

I saw an earlier thread talking about Verne and Gary being pro Florida and I did not get that at all. If u listen to the Florida TD calls from Verne when Fla scored he sounded like he was at a funeral...when Vols scored he was all excited and giddy. And Gary didn't sound pro Fla at all to me either. That's how I heard it anyway.

What you were hearing was the joyous chanting of Vol fans buried under Neyland that had died in the past 11 years. :eek:lol:

Anybody see the two TN students interviewed leaving the game at half-time? Hate to be them on campus Monday. Reminded me of some of those on this board during the in-game thread first half. lol

I've sat in Neyland and watched the flood of those in orange hitting the gates mid-way through the 3rd and it kills me... I always feel bad for the players and coaches. For those in the stands on Saturday... your resiliency paid off... it's truly a game that will go down as one of the best ever and you were there for the celebration. IGTBATV

As fans, we really showed our resiliency. 102,455 individuals learning to cheer complementary football. I like our competitive grit and maturity. We just have to keep grinding through all 4 quarters.

Pics or I don't believe it! You know we all picture you as the surly old man with the arched back who likes to point and shake his head a lot. That guy can't jump...

Tim Priest (caught up in the moment I'm sure) said it was probably the best half of football he's seen in 50 years

Priest is a VFL....but I can't stand to listen to him...

And ANYBODY who actually watched the '91 Notre Dame comeback would disagree with him.....

"The University of Tennessee has not had a more important, or bigger, comeback in our school's history," said Tennessee Coach Johnny Majors.

"I've been in this game a long time," said Notre Dame Coach Lou Holtz. "That was as difficult a loss as I've been associated with, ever. Ever."

Beating the Gators was a GREAT WIN to be sure.....but '91 was bigger, was on the road, and was MUCH SWEETER than any game I've seen other than the '86 Sugar Bowl win against Miami.

Would agree with you about the ND comeback to some degree. That game's ending was much more dramatic with the "butt block" of the ND FG attempt that would have won it for the Irish. But as far as sheer joy in a victory this Florida win is right there with that '82 win over Bama. I mean beating Notre Dame in a huge on the road comeback was special but ending 11 game losing streaks to your arch rivals is just...well better.

The ND game was even more improbable. The Vols absolutely could not stop the ND running game in the first half. This Florida game was awesome, ending the streak is the cherry on top, but for a one game comeback I'd go with the ND game.

But a game like the UF game has SEC and national title implications. This game was bigger IMO. I know you old geezers won't agree though LOL.

Watched the game 3 times now and thought same thing. When we got going in 2nd half I'd say Gary said "just keep playing" at least 3-5 times. Thought I was in twilight zone but he wanted UT to win. Verne was just hoping it'd end so he could go drop a deuce and eat for the 7th time on Sat.

3 of the best games ever in Neyland Stadium that I been to are Florida in 1998, 2004 & 2016. Also 1990 & 1992. It's always great to beat those haughty Gators!!

It is a process and involves a great gameplan(with a little cath bag trickeration that allows for execution) Years of preparation..You have to play it in a complimentary fashion brown water and coca cola have to be in sync. The key play of the game was a strong infusion in 2 q for many..
