Just watched the game again. This loss is on the offensive coaching staff.

After re-watching the game, from a scheme perspective, he had a huge issue with our blocking assignments. On basically all of our inside run plays, the guard would stay and help double team the nose guard with the center, and would never come off on the linebacker. It was obviously designed that way bc it happened every time...and that linebacker was free to make the play every single time. Not sure if they thought they needed the guards to stay and help Thomas with the head up technique the whole game or what, but really terrible game plan no matter the reason, and it blew up in our face multiple times
The weak side had problems. Somebody should have had the LB in what you watched.

Just wait. Against WCU, we'll look like the 99-01 Rams. Then back to reality in Gainesville.

I could see that happening. Dobbs has two losses since becoming a starter and both happen to be against the best defenses (and teams) he has played. Even this Florida team will be a big challenge for the Vols, still lots of talent in Gainesville.

Exactly my point...I don't think they were accounting for the Will linebacker. I could be wrong, but I never saw anyone trying to get to him on any of the inside run plays

LOL my wife told me that last night. She was right. DeBord took his foot off the pedal and let Oklahoma off the hook. I doubt Jones will say anything about it but we should have been much more aggressive on offense instead of worry about making a mistake.

Let a very big fish off thte hook.
