So now we wait.

I've got some time to watch a thread today, but I don't really have one good cohesive football thought to write about. So I'm going random...

-It occurred to me after watching the spring replay that I didn't notice a single coach with a headset on. Certainly not Lane, him being on the field, but not Monte or Chaney, or Orgeron either.... That's coaching on the field..

-Last thing Kiff says to the team after practice 14 in that halftime practice video they showed in spring game..."nobody on the streets tonight!"... I'm betting nobody was.

If off the field crap rears it's head these next few months, I'll be truly surprised.

-Weight work is helping both lines. It's pretty obvious with the 'D'.. but the 'O' line showed flashes of being able to get in another guys grill. More weight time in this between period and the word physical may just return to the offense's lexicon... How sweet that would be.

-All of a sudden the football is something a reciever is supposed to fight to get a hold of. Only good can come from this.

-The crowds for caravan are stunning even Kesling. He even said he's seeing more kids in the crowd than he used to. New fanbase under construction.

-Bryce Brown, you better bring the smack in August if you intend to play. Monterrio, Tony and Tauren are running north and the jukey crap has clearly been coached out of them. Pound the rock BB, I want to see you something bad..

-The ribs at Calhoun's have not declined over the years. Yet another Tennessee tradition.

-Whatsisname on the sideline for Vol radio simply will not do.

-Visors are starting to grow on me as a UT headwear option. My bald pate probably precludes me from trying it though.

-Two words... Jumbo Tron.. besides the football team, I'm really looking forward to seeing that sucker...

all for now.

Has anyone seen or heard from Eric Gordon Lately? No info on if he has been to any practices, or Spring Game. Just wondering, I really like this kid, think he can help us.

I know. There was a part in the video from practice with coach Gran talking about not doing that double move junk and hitting the hole. Often times in the past I thought some of the backs should exchange their cleats for tap shoes. It's amazing what a difference coaching makes. They just looked more physical and disciplined. I can't wait until fall camp starts.

it's all good at the moment......to be honest, I wonder just how half-assed the coaching has been in prior years.

From the mustard sauce covered shores of South Carolina to the wet or dry on the banks of the mighty Mississippi, it's all good.

So I'm pretty excited about the prospects of an effective running attack. My fear is when our opponents stuff the box, the QB will not be able to take advantage of the passing opportunities.

This where as a fan, you hope the QB has enough leader in him in the huddle to see the blood, sweat, and snot in their faces and challenges them to be tough and move the chains. To remind them that in this moment they as men are being called out.

Good summary OWH. True on the visor front. I'm going to purchase a new one. But only because my old one is wearing out.

Great thoughts and i loved the comment of nobody on the streets tonight and the fact that CLK was on the field the entire time. I have never seen that before and i did not notice the headsets until you mentioned them in this. This is the most excited about football season that i have been in a long time ('99 thought we could repeat) It can not get here fast enough for me...

Kiffin continues to use the 'Championship football' mantra, and that's good... But for all the signs that exist that make this excitement level grow...Championship football is still a destination we're just now packing for... We should be careful not to let expectation(hopes) exceed reality.

We win 8, I'll feel like we set this program on the launching pad very nicely.

I would take 8 wins next year in a heart beat right now. But somehow my expectations grow to ridiculous levels as the season approaches.

8 would indeed be fantastic. I have the issue that my Orange and White glasses are a little thick, and I see potential in every matchup we have this year. No, I'm not saying we'll go undefeated, though I wish we would, I'm just saying that if we bring the right stuff every Saturday, then we're in for a treat this fall.

There's always the potential to win. That's why you play the game. Having said that, the O&W game was a reality check for me. And truthfully, I needed it. I'm still looking forward to football season. But it helped me to not get my hopes up too far. 9 wins and I'll be happy. :)

Good of you to keep those expectations down on terra firma...

Did anyone notice early in the spring game when Poole had about at 30 yard run when there was a huge hole he danced around a bit at first. And normally after a 30 yrd run the coaches are clapping..not these guys. Kiffin went straight to him and yelled at him then he trotted off field and EG grabbed his facemask and gave him an earfull!!!!
