Can someone explain to me what happened very simply to these questions, cause I honestly don't really know what happened.

Did they snap the ball on time?

Did they also have too many players on the field?

Were there offsetting fouls?

I really just don't know and want it cleared up. It was very unclear sitting in the stands there.

Thanks in advance!

Yes
I'm still in too much pain to watch the replay. I had people texting me and telling me LSU had 12 on the field though, take that FWIW
No (hypothetically, I guess there could've been if they called T-Bob Hebert for the unsportsmanlike, but there's no chance of that being called anyway)

They ran what amounted to goal line personnel onto the field and had 11 out there.

We tried to match their changes with our own goal line grouping but screwed it up and didn't get the right people off the field and ended up with 13 at the snap.

The only flag was for illegal participation.

Thanks, guess that settles it. Damn, this really sucks. Confusing finish. Heartbreaking there in the stands. Going to be a long drive back to Knoxville tomorrow. At least I got 200 miles behind me.

Were you next to the band? I was right behind the band and nobody had a clue what happened

You probably heard that, after a half hour delay, they brought the teams back out for the 2-point conversion. On it, LSU fumbled and JJ picked it up and ran it to send the game into OT.

We scored first with a TD and a PAT. Then, they scored a TD and missed the PAT, but we had 14 players on the field. So, on their second chance, they faked the PAT, and ran it in for the 2 point conversion winning the game.

Ironically, on the final play of the game in OT, we only had 8 players on the field and they all lined up on one side of the field, making it easy for the holder to walk into the endzone.

But, it wasn't our staff's fault as they are new. :)

Next week, they promise to work on counting, but blamed the players for not trying hard enough to stop the holder as he walked into the endzone.

just... saying... what could have been.

No, I was way way up there. Would never have bought those tickets had I known how high up that upper deck went. Should've sprung for better seats...

LSU had 11, if you watch the replay they are easy to count.
