Just stop with the Chad Morris rumors..He's not going anywhere

Dooleys record was actually better. Let me guess- he inherited a mess?

Dooley was never a head coach or coordinator at any level of football before he took Louisiana Tech. He didn't particularly improve La Tech. They actually got way better after he left.

Morris was a high school head coach for 16 years, won multiple state titles in Texas. He was the OC at Tulsa for a year, they went from 3-9 to 10-3. Dabo was 15-12 before Morris, he was 42-11 with Morris.

Morris is an offensive mastermind. Clemson runs his offense. He's a great recruiter with connections here and and in Texas.

This is from a story last year before the Ohio State playoff game that is all about Clemson being there because of Morris' recruiting and his offense that they still run.

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. — For a full year, Chad Morris worked and worked to get Deshaun Watson, a five-star quarterback recruit from Gainesville, Ga., to give Clemson his verbal commitment. And Watson did, on Feb. 1, 2012, two years before he was set to sign his national letter of intent.

In retrospect, that might have been the easy part. In total, Morris spent three years recruiting Watson — one to convince the prospect that Clemson was the place for him, and two more to keep other programs at an arm’s length.

“Chad Morris has had a huge impact on my life,” Watson said. “I still talk to him to this day. He’s like a father figure for me and a coach.

“Clemson University, all the fans, all the team, coaches, we all respect Coach Morris. He knows that. And he’s always welcome to come back to Clemson and hang out with us. He’s just a special guy.”

How many coaches will Currie hire and then we go to Twitter and fire before he gets to a coach we’ll accept?

In 3 years as a head coach at smu he has losing record. Period. I don’t care what he did in high school. That’s ridiculous. And btw- Clemson looked better without him the last 2 years.

Because he built their offense and vastly improved their recruiting. Clemson scored 150 more points his first year there than they did the year prior.

He's 7-5 this year. I know you don't want to hear it, but SMU was 1-11 and scored 133 points total for the whole season the year before he got there. They scored 333 his first year, 332 his second and have scored almost 500 points this year with the bowl game remaining.

He has a better resume than Gus Malzahn overall when he was hired by Auburn and they're a win away from being SEC champions and going to the CFB playoff.

I just don't see that there are any realistic candidates that can be had at this point that are any more proven than Morris.

I agree and personally I like the hire. I'm anxious to see what he can do with our QB situation. I feel like he'll make one of those guys a very solid QB.

To be fair this year is probably the best year SMU has had since the death penalty but I agree this guy was coaching high school 9 years ago.
Baylor passed on him????
Maybe this is where we r at though and they are set to go today

Look guys they are not going to hire Kiffin its just like the Gruden crap everyone gets all worked up about who they want and then when they dont get him its total backlash. WE ARE NOT IN A GOOD SPOT RIGHT NOW TO GET WHO WE REALLY WANT SO WE MAY HAVE TO SETTLE FOR A GUY LIKE MORRIS. It’s just who we are right now.

Gus Malzahn was coaching high school 8 years before he got the Auburn job. He's about to coach for the SECCG and CFB playoff.

Coaches that are highly successful tend to be very good at what they do regardless of level. So far Morris has been that at every stop. His 4 years at Clemson and his very high level of recruiting there are extremely encouraging. His taking of dead offenses into juggernaut offenses at every level is also extremely encouraging.
