Just some news that I thought I would pass on

My thoughts (and the thoughts of many others) as well. Not bad-mouthing Dooley, but we could have gotten a more experienced man if Hamilton had handled things differently.

Even with the losses and dissension within the VOL fan base, and whether or not I agree with the coaching staff, I still yell: "GO VOLS!!!" ><>

You guys simply have no clue about what went on after Kiffin left.

Hiring Dooley was a B**** move

not aimed at you, just using your post as a jumping off point

By all means jump off it like you own it. I didn't like the hire, but he is the head coach and I happen to not be a fair weather fan. So I cheer on the orange anyhow.

If this happens, we're going to lose a game in November ... maybe Troy? Vandy? Kentucky could basically have a winning streak on us ... I'd be afraid the players would fold

same. just tired of losing. thats the best way to expain how you feel. i dont hate dooley. im not angry. just tired. and hoping against all hope for Gruden. at this point im used to losing so if we dont get Gruden, ill know the feeling. it will feel the same as losing against LSU, UNC, UK, UF, and Miss St. this year. Bring it on

Anyone who thinks Dooley will be fired because of a loss to SC is delirious. We are not expected to beat them. Now, a loss to Vandy, KY, Troy would be different.

Yup, a loss to SC is probable. However,

1) a loss to MO (they should have some injured players back, among them, their QB for this game)
2) Vandy (they have been playing better than in past years lately,
3) and/or Ky (they played GA very hard this past Saturday)

is possible. And,
4) Troy is not playing all that badly this year... but we should beat them easily.

If the team does not "win out" after the SC game, the fan base and "prominent donors" will be screaming for Dooley's departure.

I hate it that its come to this point, but there it is...

Uh...no. We wouldn't have.

It is possible that we could have gotten a much better hire if Hamilton had been competent. Because, if he had been competent, he would have actually supported the previous coach (Fulmer) instead of working behind his back to sow dissension, and he would have handled Fulmer's termination and replacement much differently.

After Kiffin left the program was in dissaray. We tried to go after good caliber coaches ie. Muschamp and probably others like him. We even offerred Cutcliffe he said no because we were unwilling to pay the buyouts on Kiffins left over coaches and take Cutcliffe's staff in its entirenty. Unfortunately that left us with the option of going after an unproven coach. Dooley had the pedigree and the integrity that made him seem to be a good option. He might still pull out a good season and secure his job for another year. I am doubtful of this. However, the program is not in dissaray now and if it is decided to move on from Dooley we will be able to land a good hire. If that is the case you can thank Dooley for bringing a lot of stability back to the program. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.

BS Don't hold it together. Take this SEC 10th ranked class and make it better.

Actually, Rivals.com has UT ranked at # 23 in all of college football in recruiting (when I checked earlier today). Not too shabby, but I certainly agree that it could be better.

Yeah, all of the A+ coaches were practically falling down on their knees for Ham to hire them.

They might have been if Hamilton was offering more than 2 million per year salary. To get an "A+" coach, we will have to pay between 4 to 5 million per year... along with latitude to bring in his own assistants. That is why Cut turned UT down - he could not bring replace assistants with his own choices.

You know, it is amazing Haslam was able to build an 18 billion company letting all of his inner most thoughts slip out to those who then immediately tell all & post on websites..

Actually Haslam didn't build the company... he inherited it from dad... but he has expanded it. However, I did not miss your point, and I agree with you 100%.

I really don't think they will fire him in the season. Who is going to replace him? Chaney? Sunsari? Kiffey Kakes brother in law? I just don't see it happening until the season is over.

Would it make a difference? I honestly don't think so. :dunno:

If this is true, I really think they have someone already lined up to be the next coach. Hopefully they learned from their mistakes the last time. I think we will have a big name coach next year and not some Sabanite. Well, i hope anyway.

And don't forget about the the possible NCAA violations. Not many coaches will brave that. Urban Meyer being an exception but I do believe he is making bank and had a very tallented roster to start out with.
