Just some news that I thought I would pass on

I honestly don't see the upside of doing this during the season. Why not let the team finish the season, then make a change if we feel it best. It's not like the new guy is going to start next Monday, and we are miraculously going to turn the season around

It allows you to get out in front of the other teams that will be looking for coaches.

The only reason I see doing it is to announce a new coach and let them try to hold the recruiting class together and start recruiting early. I don't like it either.

Good news if true.

Wish we could roll back the clock and do a few things differently, keeping him out of Knoxville in the first place. If we had a competent AD at the time, I think we could have gotten an A+ hire.

My thoughts (and the thoughts of many others) as well. Not bad-mouthing Dooley, but we could have gotten a more experienced man if Hamilton had handled things differently.

Even with the losses and dissension within the VOL fan base, and whether or not I agree with the coaching staff, I still yell: "GO VOLS!!!" ><>

Recruiting, and its the most important thing besides getting a quality coach for our programs success. The later you wait, the tougher its going to be getting kids to come here. One way or the other, hart has to come out with something to establish where we are going forward after the SC game.

I can't wait to see this board's reactions when we fire dooley and then don't get Gruden and get stuck with another saban coordinator.

The devil you know and such.

Anyone who thinks Dooley will be fired because of a loss to SC is delirious. We are not expected to beat them. Now, a loss to Vandy, KY, Troy would be different.

Delirious? Have you watched any of the past 3 seasons? Look at your post, your expectations are to beat vandy, UK, and Troy. Unacceptable.
BTW, dooleys done. Besides being a horrible coach, the financial impact of keeping dools around is a big factor. What do you think attendance would be like, or excitement among the fanbase? He's gone bro. We will see who's delirious soon.

Yeah, all of the A+ coaches were practically falling down on their knees for Ham to hire them.

I am also a poster on VQ.COM and there is a very reliable poster over there that when he mentions something, he is normally correct. He stated that if Dooley loses to SC Haslam has agreed to pay Dooley's buyout and the first years salary to our new head coach. If they lose to SC Dooley will be fired on Sunday or Monday. Take it all as you wish. :hi:

For the sake of Dooley, I hate it that things have gotten to this point. Like I've said in numerous posts, Dooley is a great guy... I've also said that he should not have been hired in the first place due to his lack of D-1 head coaching experience.

THEN... I consider the sense of integrity Dooley has brought back to our program, and how he really saved most of the recruiting class Kiffen left in limbo... and I believe we fans owe Dooley a bit of gratitude. At the same time, I just do not see him getting it done with this team... although he is giving it his best.

Unless the team wins out the season, I believe the administration, fan base, and donor support for Dooley and his staff will greatly diminish. If Dooley is not fired at season's end, and is not offered a contract extension, I see recruits' interest going down the drain.

I believe rumors on here from "reliable" sources are right at about 8 percent of the time right. My opinion is that is about how much of a chance we have of you being correct. The ones wanting the results the rumor offers will tend to believe this at around 90 percent.

The main reason for firing Dooley before the end of the season and replacing him with a coach the caliber of Gruden, Stoops, Muschamp, etc... is for the sake of being able to recruit higher quality players. If our play and coaching does not improve by season's end, our recruiting may suffer. Remember, our commits have not signed yet and could easily de-commit. No offense to Dooley or anyone else.

Its business, if you got a guy who cant get it done cut him loose and get a guy in who can. People get way to emotional and attached to coaches. Like it or lump it; college ball is a business and if you can't win then your out. They know that when getting into the profession.

You know, it is amazing Haslam was able to build an 18 billion company letting all of his inner most thoughts slip out to those who then immediately tell all & post on websites..
