If my recollection serves me... he didn't even get invited to the NFL combine...

I highly, highly doubt anybody that gets that snub is going top 5 rounds...

I wish I had a gig as a backup NFL quarterback. That would be an awesome best job.

Been a long time, though Obama has plans for a civilian service type deal where I think everyone of age would be required to participate. Bringing conscription back. I doubt it happens, but who knows.

If Crompton gets drafted period, it will make for a great story. It doesn't matter what round he goes in, or if he ever gets to play, it will still be amazing. If someone had told me before last season began there would be draft talk surrounding him, I would have said they were crazy. Now it looks very possible. I wish him well.

Interesting he didn't get invited to the combine. They are selective about who is in the combine when some of the top players skip them. What does it hurt to invite more players?

True, however, it can be transferred to the Department of the Navy during declared war & it can perform select missions under the Department of Defense at any time per Title 14 US Code :)
