Just read Limbaugh's comments in context

I'm just glad that these sponsors finally decided to demonstrate their moral authority. I am confident these sponsors will act accordingly in the future when other commentators make equally inappropriate comments. Surely this isn't convenient grandstanding, right?

There are many, many government mandated coverages. And many of those have been sponsored or promoted by Republicans. I know that they are very common at the state level.

It is a bad idea no matter who proposes the legislation.

On principal I would never work for a company that had ideals that differed so far from mine. So if you want an employer that covers things like this, why wouldn't you just find one?

Because of political correctness, the entire argument is flawed. Birth control is cheap. It is a non issue. This is about distraction. Something that both parties are all too familiar with. It has nothing to do with facts.

What typically happens with mandated coverages is that some group, with a powerful voice in the legislature, convinces enough to vote for their interest because, if private insurance were offered to cover just it, or a constellation of things that included it, the cost would be prohibitive.

You are typing to someone who was a managed care director for about 15 years.....

The fact remains that birth control is cheap...and that this entire argument is ridiculous. Santorum and Rush both bear responsibility for handling it like blabbering idiots. I don't expect much more from either one of them most of the time anyway...

David Letterman can call Sarah Palin a slut on national TV.
No problemo.

Bill Maher (who donated a million $$ to the Obama PAC)
can regularly use the 'C' word to describe Sarah Palin.
No problemo.

But don't call a liberal a slut, all hell is going to be raised.
As far as I'm concerned, all progressives are sluts or worse.

Both of those dudes are entertainers. Wait. Are you saying that Rush is just an entertainer like Glenn Beck? Well, then anyone who hangs on his every word is a fool, I suppose, because he's playing y'all to the tune of $50 million a year. And Sarah Palin is a c**t slut.

I'd imagine it's a loss prevention measure. If it were moral authority they would have dropped Rush a long time ago. Money talks, which is why Rush is still on air.

it's just another example, in a long line of examples, where the republicans are given an issue perfectly delivered on a silver platter (here, government overreach) and they totally botch the message.

all registered republicans should be allowed to kick Santorum in the genitals for turning this issue an opportunity to rail against birth control

The professional protester has publically denounced RL's apology. Who did not see that coming?

Lots of buzz on the 'net wanting people to cancel their Carbonite subscription over this. We'll see.

I did.

Had 42,000,000 plus records with them being saved and are switching companies.

I also emailed them and let them know why.

Still drinking my blueberry tea though.

The only person who benefits is Rush which makes him another kind of whore, an attention whore. But I cannot judge him for that, lest I would be just as bad as the lardass, pill head. :)

For the Neocons who are cancelling subscriptions in protest of a talk radio show host losing several sponsors; do any of your wives or people you know take birth control? Doesn't taking birth control make them a slut, by Rush's definition? So, if you answered "yes" to the first question, how can you not answer "yes" to the second one? I never said your wives were prostitutes, because this forum is crawling with millionaires and sell outs, so they don't need to whore themselves out to Uncle Sam to get their birth control, but I'm pretty sure if they do take da B.C., even if they pay for it themselves, they are still sluts. C'mon, let's get it all out there; who's married to a slut?

I have no problem with birth control but *****ing about someone else buying your birth control for you is pathetic.

my wife never used BC though hence we have three kids. she does have her tubes tied now and I paid quite alot for the surgery so I guess that would still fall under BC.

either way, all women are dirty lil sluts some are just more open and honest about it. this woman basically just put out a neon sign though saying I like to get screwed alot.

Jesus, you are a hopeless man. I used to really like your posts because you're a pot stirrer like myself but that post was so putrid, I don't even wanna quote, so i don't get any of your woman-hate on me.

what woman hate was there?

every guy is a pervert too.

but you dont see me asking for the government to pay for tissues so I can clean up when I do my own little form of birth control.

I think you're omitting a small difference between the consequences of no birth control for a man and a woman....

I don't know, it seems to me that the ones who can't afford b.c. are the ones who shouldn't be having kids, because, statistically, they are more likely to need welfare and food stamps, which would be an even larger tax burden than some birth control pills.

You can frame that post as the most conservative thing I've ever typed on here.

If the only solution to this problem is the mandated providing of birth control, it's time to start discussing sex licenses.
