Lil wayne liking UT has nothing to do with what these kids did! I mean I like ALL music, 1 minute I can be rocking out to Led Zepplin the next Brad Paisley, and top it off with some Lil Wayne........When I listen to Lil Wayne or any rap for that matter, it does not wanna make me go out and rob someone or do anything they rap about.
Lil' Wayne glorifies violence and degradation of women, disrespect for authority, violence as "cool", is a homophobe and stands for everything that a disciplined FB team should not. I can see "liking the beat", but as far as a personification of a solid American citizen, he is not only lacking, but, in light of the recent incident, should be kept at arms length..........no matter your musical taste. I think our recruiting will be just fine without his help. As for the $$ thing mentioned in an earlier post, that is a measuring stick that I feel is not only shallow, but personifies a skewed value system. Just my two cents.

So I guess we can't sing rocky top this week either?

How many Elvis songs talk about poppin caps in peoples butts, slappin ho's, sellin dope? None I ever heard. Elvis might have lived it rough, but you didnt hear it in his music or his movies. Choose a better comparison than that. Maybe Johnny Cash or Waylon Jennings.
Jailhouse rock glamorized going to prison and "dancing" with other inmates. Sounds iffy to me.

Apparently, there is a rumor that Lil' Wayne maybe at the game Saturday. I hope that he doesn't come. I once said that it is great for recruiting, but have since changed my stance. After what has happened this past week, I doubt Kiffin cares much about the "street cred" that Lil' Wayne provides, especially since Wayne is supposedly going to serve time in jail. I think if Kiffin is asked the question if the rumor gets to the media, that he should quickly dismiss Wayne and move on. I just hope that the whole Lil' Wayne thing doesn't come back to haunt us down the road with the whole "thug" persona he has, and for arguments sake is.

i hear your argument and respectfully disagree.

not all people who listen to Lil' Wayne are thugs. he is one of the most popular, if not the most popular, musicians among young males at this time. as CLK says "everything has to do with recruiting".

Now see, I'm on your side of the argument and you have to go bust on my hometown like that. What's that all about Boss Man?

I'm just busting his chops a little bit. I gotta friend living in Johnson city and he put me up to it. Although having been to Johnson city not sure he has too much room to talk.lol

But seriously i know every guy has their preferences in females. But how could someone not think she at least has a pretty face?

I honestly don't care. I was kidding, but yeah, I wouldn't kick her out of bed.

Why?

Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. I could mostly give a crap about the PR aspects of the situation, as long as the kids come to Knoxville. Kiffin talks a lot about discipline and thus far has kicked the malcontents and troublemakers off the team (with a big INC still hanging out there w/r/t Jackson). As long as he does that, I really don't care at all if Ivan Maisel and Mark Schlabach write a few nancy-boy hand-wringing columns about the "element" Kiffin is courting.

Besides, it's not like this is anything new at Tennessee. They call it the Fulmer Cup for a reason.

Hard to argue with this.

That was 16 years ago, and most don't even remember or know that. If Snoop happened to be a UT fan in '93 and we had something happen on our team that resembled what he did at that time, I would be against him coming as well. That said, it was 16 years ago and he's not even close to that same situation right now. You have brought that up twice now.

On September 27, 2006, Snoop Dogg was detained at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California by airport security, after airport screeners found a collapsible police baton in Snoop's carry-on bag. The baton was confiscated but Snoop was allowed to board the flight. He has been charged with various weapons violations stemming from this incident. Donald Etra, Snoop's lawyer, told deputies the baton was a prop for a musical sketch. Snoop was sentenced to three years' probation and 160 hours of community service starting on September 20, 2007.[62]
Snoop Dogg was arrested again on October 26, 2006 at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California while parked in a passenger loading zone. Approached by airport security for a traffic infraction, he was found in possession of marijuana and a firearm, according to a police statement. He was transported to Burbank Police Department Jail, booked, and released on $35,000 bond. He faced firearm and drug possession charges on December 12 at Burbank Superior Court.[63] He was again arrested on November 29, 2006, after performing on The Tonight Show, for possession of marijuana and a firearm.[64]
Snoop was arrested again on March 12, 2007 in Stockholm, Sweden after performing in a concert with P. Diddy in Stockholm's Globe Arena after he and a female companion reportedly "reeked" of marijuana. They were released four hours later after providing a urine sample. Pending results on urine will determine whether charges will be pressed. However the rapper denied all charges.[65][66]

Just sayin'
