Just read a rumor that I hope to NOT be true...

Not arguing against it but from what I understand the guy that Wayne is taking the fall for has come out and said it was his gun but the Feds aren't having any of it, just the way I understood it....Not saying its right either way but that's how I understand the situation

You don't go to jail for someone else. If you don't do something, you don't admit guilt for it. That's just plain dumb, IMO.

What about Snoop Dogg always at the USC games, or Uncle Luke at the U, you know back when they used to win.

i dont think he should be here so soon. im not opposed to him visiting maybe during the offseason or next year. not 2 weeks after the 3 stooges incident and while he is in a legal dispute (i havent heard the verdict yet).

Dude, it doesn't have anything to do with the music. It has to do with the fact he's going to jail for felony weapons charges in the not too distant future.

Understandable, BUT Felons are allowed to like CFB just as much as anyone. Hopefully Lil Wayne will do what T.I. has done and reach out to these young kids.

My point exactly. If it was next year, oh wait, he won't be able to attend since he has to go to jail.

Do you even understand WHY I started this thread?? I'm not really trying to "get at you dog", but we just had a kid try to rob someone at gun point. Whether it was a pellet gun or not is beside the point.

You guys all are making great points on both sides of the arguement but blaming Lil Wayne or saying that his music influenced what happened this time last week, is like blaming Marilyn Manson for some of those high school shootings...I don't think you can rightfully do that...JMO

I don't believe you people. Please someone tell me why Lil wayne should stay home and not come to the game because keese, edwards, and jackson made a dumb decision. I hate old stupid rednecks that are stuck in their ways.

i agree with eric.

i dont like the image that Lil' Wayne being there presents to the UT team only a couple weeks after a street crime. he may not have made those kids do what they did, but his music certainly doesnt echo that he dissaproves of such actions.

now is not the time for him to be anywhere near UT. public relations is a big deal in this situation. this isnt the same as CLK pissing off a couple of over paid coaches and their teams.

Why?

Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. I could mostly give a crap about the PR aspects of the situation, as long as the kids come to Knoxville. Kiffin talks a lot about discipline and thus far has kicked the malcontents and troublemakers off the team (with a big INC still hanging out there w/r/t Jackson). As long as he does that, I really don't care at all if Ivan Maisel and Mark Schlabach write a few nancy-boy hand-wringing columns about the "element" Kiffin is courting.

Besides, it's not like this is anything new at Tennessee. They call it the Fulmer Cup for a reason.

Point taken, although with the rumors circulating about who is visiting officially or unofficially, wouldn't you like the top class to finish committing this weekend.

I'm not even arguing the music. I like listening to "Tha Fireman" myself but there is a time and place for this, and this is really not the best time nor place for an appearance from him right now.

Yea i know, Damn that lil wayne for giving those kids those pellett guns and telling them to rob someone and bring back the money. He's selfish he made 13 million lasy year yet he wants to pimp jackson, keese, and edwards.

Cmon dude get a grip on reality

I don't think he's blaming lil wayne at all. but he has a point. lil wayne isn't exactly the persona of hard work and professional conduct that coaches are trying to instill in these young guys.

Luther Campbell. Snoop Dog. Why can't we have our own rapper? Certainly didn't hurt the "U" or SC.

Seriously . . . after that Patty Page halftime show earlier this year, we need all the help we can get.

Lil Wayne appears on "Around the Horn" on ESPN and no one gripes about it. Kids are going to like Lil Wayne whether he shows up at a game or not, and im pretty positive that him going to the game is not going to have a negative impact on the behavior of the team.

You guys are looking too far into it. The man is a FAN, I am sure their will be other felons at the game as well. Hell I am sure some of the UT alum have committed crimes far worse then what Lil Wayne has, they just call it "White Collar Crime".

Ok you know nothing. Do you know that their are alot of people saying that he is the hardest working man in showbiz. He is every where. he records everyday, has a blog on espn, preforms, does radio shows, On television, the list goes on. He works harder in one week than you do all month. Do some research before you form an opinion on someone.
