Butch Jones is kinda just saying that all the bad things are happening because it's just one of those years......

Is it really just one of those years? Or are all of his deficiencies just finally coming to a head and not being masked anymore?? Is full exposure on display of everything Butch Jones lacks to be successful at a very high level at UT?

This is a quote from Butch over the past few days...

"It's one of those years,"
UT coach Butch Jones said. "I've never been through anything like this in 30-plus years.

Really? Just one of those years? Like things are unjustly happening to him and the team? Like it is just bad luck?

It is something every year with him in the accuse department.

I inherited a bad situation
We are young
We are injured
The ball bounced the wrong way
Players aren't executing
We are young
We are injured
Lack of depth
Players aren't executing
Broken record

Of course he hasn’t been through anything like this. He’s at a big time program, had 5 YEARS to at least make it to the SEC Championship and couldn’t do it, then expects this proud program and it’s fans to be ok with it. He’s in over his head, he’s never had to face diversity like this.

Yeah it’s one of those years. One of those years where you’ve run out of excuses because what we see on the field is exactly what a Butch Jones offense looks like with an entire roster of guys you recruited and assistants you’ve hired. Yeah, it’s one of those years where you need to be shown the door.

Butch will be here until he doesn't make a bowl. Everything else points to "progress" in the eyes of the decision makers. That's the way it is in K'town.

It's "one of those years" to him because an increasingly large contingent of the fan base is finally seeing through his snake oil pitch and are finally seeing him for the mediocre coach and "caretaker" that he is. A lot of folks aren't interested in buying what he's selling any more.

we will have to wait and see who are the 7 coaches who will tell Tennessee NO, THIS TIME before we settle on a mid major Google hire coach. Chill.. worrying ain't gonna fix this.

OMG!!! When will the insanity end? Fire him and move on. This isn't that hard folks. There are no good reasons to keep him, NONE!

I think Butch is on the cusp of turning it all around and being one of the best coaches ever. His clichés will become the new maxims that powerful UT football teams of the future will read and recite prior to big time games:

* Leadership reps
* Eye discipline
* Fans don't understand the read option
* We just had a great bye week
etc.

Next year it will
Be lack of recruiting, loss of top talent on defense and youth at quarterback and depth at reciever.

funny....saban never has "one of those years"

His first year at Alabama (2007) was.

Of course he followed that up with an undefeated regular season and losing the SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl, then in year 3 went undefeated and won the NC. And even his "one of those years", he beat us 41-17.

Haslam isn't worried about TN right now. And Currie is his puppet. So they are serving a sugar coated turd to the fans. They want you to like it and spend your $

Next year could be great.... if we fire him and get a good coach.

This team isn't nearly as talented as we were led to believe.....especially on the LOS.....both sides. In this league, that's nearly impossible to overcome. On top of that, you have seen the schedule for next year? It's a gauntlet similar to the mess of two years ago. We will be physically beat to hell by the time we get through that. That's when the late season upsets come. I'd be shocked if we don't see 7-5 or another 6-6 season.

Butch must be just a fan then. Because he doesn't either........................

A year where we could go 3-9 or 4-8 isn't "just one of those years". In 120 years, we've never had one of THOSE years. Looks like year 121 will change that.
