Hey, let's get positive here. I am for a coaching change just as much as anyone, but we were in the exact same position last year. It is funny how the same things were being said on this forum last year. First, I not letting up believing that we can have a good season. Second, I do not believe that TN having a good year would do enough for Phil to keep his job. That being said, Go Vols, Fire Phil.

Wrong. We actually had a decent QB last year. This year we have jack

Auburn will kill us.

I try to be positive although its getting harder to do. Getting beat that badly by florida at home is a hard thing to take.
Also I believe its already been said. If Phil wins 8 games he gets a raise and an extension. So if TN does end up having a good year phil will definatley keep his job.

Last year there were some positives, even though we rolled over at Florida. Where are those positives this year? Our O-line was supposed to be excellent, so far they have been mediocre at best. Our secondary was supposed to be great, maybe they are but with no real threat at pass rush they can't be truly effective. Don't get me started on offense. WE HAVE NO IDENTITY!

I just don't see much to be hopeful about this year. All it would take is some improvement, but we haven't improved. Florida beat us like a red head stepchild while playing poorly on offense.

So is it safe to say that we should all root for the Vols to lose in order for Phil to get fired?

As long as Phil is still coach we will be in this same position every year unless Meyer leaves.

Never root to lose, but it would be tragic if PHILLIP some how got sick or someone sent a greyhound to pick him up on game day and delivered him to the Florida campus!

7 interceptions in 3 games is pretty good. That's the only bright spot

I think it's safe to say that we won't have to lift a finger for the VOLS to keep losing.

Is this an ends justifies the means occasion? If the vols win, Phil stays. If they lose, and badly, Phil goes. I feel sorry for the players.

There are folks on here who know a lot more about UT football than me (My folks finished at UTK in '61 and I was at UTK '91-'95 - been around UT football for a long time) but from what I know and can tell these days, that about sums it up.

If Fulmer installs a spread offense that takes advantage of our athletes, starts up a QB competition, and learns the damn game of football, then I would be for him to stay.

He'd never install the spread,he's too old-school for that.

Not the same.
1) Decent QB- Crappy QB
2) UF, UGA, and UA are all better than last year and Auburn wasn't on schedule.
3) Dumb Fulmer contract has everyone expecting better results than last year
4) Smaller attendance at games and louder boos will have this team giving up after the UGA stomping.
5) Did I mention that Crompton sucks?

even when we started the season awfully last year, I always had a feeling or hope that we could pull it out. I absolutely do not have that feeling this year. Instead I have a feeling we may lose to all of the top tier SEC teams plus kentucky and vandy..
