My friend and I went to Miami to see Alabama and Oklahoma play at the orange bowl as my friend is a hardcore Alabama fan . He had the tickets and i jumped at the chance to go . But what I noticed most about the game was that the offensive line at Alabama are way bigger and stronger than our guys not just by a little but buy a lot . I believe that Fitzgerald will get our guys there but how long will it take and what did the last strength staff have our linemen doing in the weight room to be so far behind?

What stands out to me is how much larger UCF's OL is compared to the rest of the league. Only USF's line comes close and it's still 5-6 lbs lighter. In some cases their OL is more that 20 lbs heavier than others in the league. Gives you an idea why they are undefeated again.

Yep. It all starts at the line. They literally have their way with the opposing line on both offense and defense.

I remember last night when they were talking about Bamas stud defensive tackle who’s like 6’3 270 and how he’s “small” for a Bama lineman.

Unfortunately it takes years of consistency in recruiting.. consistency in development to get to the point where we aren't playing freshman and sophomores as starters but juniors and seniors as starters and two deep. This takes more time than any group it seems, especially in the SEC.

Watched the game from the armchair...their guys look like men compared to our boys. I think IBJ had them posing for pics instead of lifting.

Even our bigger guys didn't get it done. If they did we wouldn't have Jamir Johnson starting at a paltry 285 lbs soaking wet and with a cork in his tail.

You didn’t have to go to Miami to see that.

Lol -"Using this extremely subjective and potentially flawed data, I still ended up finding some pretty impressive correlations between size and performance."

Interesting, the team that shut out South Carolina yesterday is an average of 8 lbs lighter on the OL than we are.
