Are they really that good and, if so, how would we fare against those three teams? Hate having to wait two weeks for the test against Georgia. As of now, do you guys think we’re a top 10 team?

The QB we faced was way better than the one Utah faced. Makes a difference. Comparative analysis is a waste of time .

What were they thinking? Like a band of amateurs who think their product (Nico) is a Bentley when he plays like a broken down Yugo. They took less money to move to a program with lesser players, coaches and facilities and almost zero fan interest and support. They should be resoundly mocked by the press and everyone else for their stupidity.

UCLA would have to bowl eligible for us to even possibly play them and that’s probably not gonna happen

UCLA is awful. I have no idea what Nico or his family was thinking by going there. Their coaching staff is awful, and their roster is severely lacking in talent. Think we'd beat them by 3-4 scores. Probably around a 20 point favorite on a neutral field.

Notre Dame and Miami I'd both rank a bit ahead. My biggest question for Notre Dame is how good Carr can be, but he looked great tonight, albeit against a question mark of a defense. Wouldn't be shocked if Tennessee would beat other should they match up, though.

Potential to be top 10 is there, again given the Aguilar/o-line consistency. The performance made me feel pretty good about the 9-3 prediction I had going in to this season, although if what Alabama showed vs FSU is a sign of their season, 10-2 would be my updated prediction and would most likely result in a playoff birth.

Think our ceiling would be winning 1 playoff game if we got a favorable matchup but no further. Don't think Aguilar has the ceiling to his game to get us any further than that given I expect our defense to be pretty good, but not elite. But an enjoyable season especially given we had to start over at QB and said QB didn't even get the full off season/spring camp and would be looking forward to seeing how good MacIntyre or Brandon could make us going forward with ceilings that should be greater than Aguilar's and continued great recruiting/development on defense.

Not sure ND is a top 10 program. Coaches appear to be too stupid. How do you not get Love more than 14 touches?

It depends. How many of the qbs and receivers are hanging out together watching the UNC game? Are there any linemen present? Are we in a theatre? Big ugly Dline?

I will say this. I think this team if it can stay healthy will be damn good at the end of the year. We played a lot of kids Saturday. Guys like Morris, Redmon, Travis Smith; future looks very bright if those guys are talented enough to get on the field right away.

With all the roster changes in the offseason now due to the transfer portal and NIL deals, preseason rankings are useless. Nobody really knows who anyone is until the lights come on. I think there will be a lot more movement in rankings, and I believe they should be more fluid now, without regard to the preconceived speculation.

According to the experts we were 13.5 better and we won by 19. It’s too early in the season for anyone to make a sure fire statement about how good or bad we are or will be. We will find out against Georgia where we are, actually I feel like this team has the potential to beat them. But again, we will see what happens when it happens. This team has the potential to be a top 10 team, I fully believe that but time will tell us if I am right or not. That’s what fun is the actual game, folks opinions after game 1 or what they think about us really don’t matter. Go prove em all wrong Vols, nobody gives you a chance at anything. It’s Tennessee against everybody. GBO

I don't really think Nico had any choice other than UCLA at the time he enteredd the portal, he waited much too late to do this for his benefit.

If the defense plays like they did last year and the offense plays similar to how they did on Saturday, then i think we are a top 10 team.

If we can just beat one of the big 3, then we'll be a playoff team. I think we don't really know what Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, or Arkansas are quite yet given who they've played. We'll find out a lot about Oklahoma since they play Michigan (who I'm not convinced about at all). Alabama feels beatable, unless they make a change at QB before our game.

I thought we played a good game considering evrything. But imo too early to predict wins and losses. We could go 7-5 or 12-0
