11-1 is easily within reach. I'd say 12-0, but it's impossible in the SEC. Don't know where that loss is coming from, but it ain't gonna be from Bama!

If we stay healthy and minimize stupid mistakes we could and should make the playoffs.

Yeah! Yet we’re 1-0 and just beat a team that was 10-3 last year.

You think there are 4 better teams on our schedule.

Ok Bud…

Like I REMINDED you. You said we would be 7-5 last year. We were 10-3.
Thats not what I said. Stop miquoting me.

First game "wow we won" chest pumping....I will wait til we play Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and other teams that seem to handle us pretty well. I enjoyed the heck out of the game. Officiating remains a HUGE issue for all teams and programs. ESPN switching before our game was over very telling. Thankful to our coaches and all the Vol fans that were present. I am hoping to get to a game this year. A win over UGA would change my mind about being a top 10 team for sure.

We were a fringe playoff team going into Syracuse game. We overperformed some in that game but I'd still say we are a fringe playoff team (11-20 or so in ranking).

We have not been able to even be close to Georgia (even at home) in recent years. If we can do that (or win the game!) then we'll be solidly top 10. If we get demolished (as we have in every game recently) we are not.

Agree we need to play at least a couple SEC games with a tough road game before anyone's prediction can be proven right or wrong.

Nothing changed my mind. Looked great at times but still have work to do on both sides of the ball. 3rd/4th down defense is a little disconcerting and needs to be fixed quickly. For now, will stick with preseason thoughts, 9-3.....8-4 and 10-2 are possible with 8-4 being more likely than 10-2.

Stop saying stupid crap framing it as “logical “.

8-4?

Did you watch Alabama get the crapped kicked out of them?
- no identity on offense or defense
- a team that doesnt trust their coaching.

This isn’t me being a Homer.
We have top 10 talent according to On3.
We have an identity on both sides but the you think there are 4 better teams on our schedule.

8-4 is not "stupid crap". It is absolutely possible! We went 5-7 once after being pre-season ranked #3.

Also, I never said "we'll finish 7-5". I said I thought our ceiling was 9-3 and our floor was 7-5. Thankfully I was wrong and we did better than expected.

Aguilar's int's last year were more of a lousy O=line and average receivers. He tried to make something happen by himself. Not needed here. With great receivers and a together O-line,Joey should have a very good to great season.10-2 at the worst.

What was your prediction before Nico left?
Around the same, but with the potential to be as good as national title contenders if Nico developed faster than I expected given how high of a ceiling he has as a QB. Was figuring if Nico was going to hit his ceiling, it'd be in 2026 more so than this year.

I voted No. We won't know truly until after the 3rd Saturday in October and what our record indicates at that point. Seriously, there shouldn't be any rankings till Nov 1st. By then, we have a large enough sample size to truly rank teams. But that takes all the fun and trash talking out of the games for the fans. So it is what it is.

With just a 1-game sample, we are way better than anyone outside of VN gave us credit for. I understand the "They lost a 5* QB and the best running back in the SEC" theory. But, to be honest, if it were GA, BAMA, TX, or Ohio St. they would have said they will just reload and be fine. Well, we reloaded and we are just fine. We have a BETTER QB, we still have a really great D, when some D linemen heal up, and we have 3 good running backs. We also have a bunch of true Freshmen who can ball on both sides of the ball. JMHO

We beat a decent P4 school handily but, win margin should have been more.

I watched Utah blow out UCLA and their team, especially their QB looked awesome. Watched two top 10 teams fight it out in ND and Miami.

Are they really that good and, if so, how would we fare against those three teams? Hate having to wait two weeks for the test against Georgia. As of now, do you guys think we’re a top 10 team?
The QB we faced was way better than the one Utah faced. Makes a difference. Comparative analysis is a waste of time .
