What are we REALLY going to do on the O-Line next year?? If we are going to have any success next season, we have got to get solid play on the O-Line. Makes me think that another 7-5 season is on the horizon, but I won't complain honestly.

replace undersized walk-ons with green freshmen and sophomores. ....hope for the best.

I have thought about this too, Eric. For whatever reason (and Kiffin has alluded to it), Fulmer screwed us on the O-line for the last couple of years. I know I'm not telling you anything new, as well as you keep up with recruiting, but it still sucks. I think 7-5 is probably realistic as well, but look at what he did with our line this year. There's hope and we got help comin'. Kiffin won't let this kind of lack of depth happen again......

Truthfully, I'm not too worried. Some of the guys playing this year had minimal playing time coming in...I think the only thing that can make you better is experience..these guys should be fine after one or two games. Unfortunately, Oregon will be here too fast:eek:hmy:

We have some good young talent, that is already here, and some more on the way. Cullen could start right away if he signs. Also, I'm pretty sure we are going to convert a bunch of d-lineman to play offense.

I think we'll be ok,7-5 or 8-4 is actually a solid prediction, and I'm ok with that, because the 3rd year potential is off the charts.

Tell Meyer, Saban, Miles, & Spurrier that the LAW is comin, you tell em that KIFFIN is comin, and HELLS COMIN WITH HIM YOU HEAR, HELLS COMIN WITH HIM!!!

Next year could get ugly record wise, but be prepared to buckle your seatbelt in 11.

There is no reason to expect a huge decline in my opinion. The Sullins brothers have done about as much as you could expect, but that isn't saying much. Considering the level of talent we have recruited, it isn't unreasonable to believe the o-line could at least hold up to the same level it performed this season.

Sure, we had a lot experience on the line this year, but it wasn't as if they were world beaters.

At first glance, the schedule looks brutal, but I don't think it makes as much difference as you think.

We pick up Oregon and LSU instead of UCLA and Auburn. And although they may seem like better teams....Guess what? We lost to both UCLA and Auburn this year, so its not like picking up LSU and Oregon is going to make our record any WORSE than UCLA/Auburn did, right?

Also, Bama & Florida are at home, and I think we might pull one of those out.

I feel that the perceived "harder schedule" is not nearly as important an issue as what the OP brought up, that our OL is basically going to be looking for players at North Carrick (thats still a freshman dorm, right?) :)

Did anybody think this years line would be what it was in the end?

We had 2 walkons, and a converted TE, that were undersized, and out matched physically just about every week. This staff got every ounce out of this OL, that it could.

Think Player Development, and Scheme.

Wasn't really thinking about it and then I just kinda realized how bad we will probably be on the O-Line. Of course, no one could have predicted we would have had 2 walk-ons starting either.

That may not win 10 games next year, with the schedule. But our OL will be fine, IMO.

OK, I guess. I assumed you spent a lot of time on the recruiting board. It has been a theme there.

We'll be young, but have more talent coming up than we eve thought about this year. We'll struggle, but it won't get worse.

Next year should be a mirror image of this year. Look for it to be pretty rough early on and we hit our stride in the second half of the season. 7-5 or 8-4 at best.

But man, it would be sweet to pull a win out of either the Bama or UF games.

That's some screwy logic . . . but it oddly makes complete sense to me. Never thought of it that way. :)

Our O-Line will be better. Sullins twins never played before, and were undersized, and not that talented. Now you replace them with bigger, more talented players who didn't have never played big time before. I'm not concerned

I do think though, that considering an entire team had to learn a new system this year, versus only the incoming class having to learn next year is huge. We have redshirts, too, that haven't played but have been under the coaching staff and learning the system for a year. I wouldn't be surprised if we go 8 and 4, but 9-3 isn't out of the realm of possibility either. And, if I'm not mistaken, Oregon in the past seems to have started slow, so better to get them early than late, IMO.
