Bill Cosby used to play for Temple.

Once when playing Hofstra he got kicked in the...........”you’d better not touch certain areas of your body while your out there on the football field.”

So he grabbed his head.

I had that comedy album as a kid too, but I remember it being a football game. Because he could not grab himself where he was hit he grabbed his head, so when they carted him off the field they bandaged his head. Great little skit.

Here is another old school, funny as heck, skit but this time from Andy Griffith.

Funny how Andy started his career as the simpleton then migrated to being the straight man. Watch his movie No time for sergeants for him in a role reversal with a Barney type character. Also thought the sergeant in the same movie was the model for Gomer Pyle

It also doesn't help that Temple is in North Philly right next to Kensington. Kensington is pretty much a 3rd world country. Trash everywhere, drugs and hookers on every corner. Very dangerous place and it wasn't always like that years ago.

Man, your post makes me smile, thinking about watching college basketball as a kid. I used to love some old school Big east and schools like temple and Lasalle. I can remember watching games on tv with my dad and papaw and then heading over to Stokely to catch our Vols in action. As a kid, it felt like you could reach out and touch the goals from the balcony. The good ol’ days!
GBO!!
An SEC Saturday night game in Stokely was surreal.

Great memory! "What it was was football" the first comedy recording I remember. Still makes me chuckle. "How about another big orange?"
