...with my dad.

Gentlemen, don't leave your daughters out of the loop when it comes to talking sports. My dad is a huge TN fan. We spent two hours talking about the coaches, recruits, the basketball game tomorrow he's going to (and not taking me, dangit).

I didn't always pay attention growing up. And even though I felt a lot of pride for the athlete he was when I was growing up, I didn't really learn to appreciate football til after I married and moved out.

But there's few things in life that are as awesome as being able to carry on a conversation about Tennessee football with your dad. Be sure you give that to your girls.

Oh, and GO VOLS!!!

Well, my dad would love to talk sports to my sister, but she does not and will never care. She's a Lakers, Heat, and Yankees (probably Bama too) "fan".

I am ashamed.

Football actually brought me and the old man closer. He said he would go to a game with me this season and he is a Dawg. He's just happy that his girl loves football!

I enjoy talking about it with my wife and she seems to enjoy it. It amazes me how much knowledge she picks while seemingly paying little attention to me. We had a good time laughing at the comments being made the other night because of a thread I started that went something like " my wife has convinced me", people are hilarious.

My daughter is 11 and has been going to UT games with me since she was 5. I couldn't imagine taking anyone else. She knows just as much or more about the game than my son does, so I agree...don't forget the girls!

My wife is as knowledgeable as any football fan. She grew up watching and talking about the game with her dad. She has been a coach's wife for 17 years. On Friday nights, she's in the stands screaming at refs for not calling holding, blocks in the back, etc. Most of the other coach's wives are talking shopping and looking at her like she is crazy. One wife asked her if she really understood what was going on. She replied with an emphatic and semi-disgusted 'yes! Why don't you?' I've even caught her glaring at me while in the pressbox because she disagreed with one of my calls. She watches more football than I do on tv. Sometimes I need a little break from football. I am making sure that I am involving my 6 & 8 year old daughters just like my father-in-law did with his 3 girls.

 (I've been to many, but we live in Alabama and when I go she usually stays behind)

You need to ask her to be your date at a game. And tell her Neyland is about more than just the football game. Show her the key players in the program, and help her watch for them on the field. One game. She'll be hooked.
