There is no denying Uncle Rico's cannon like arm strength, also his laser like precision (remember the steak throw). If you will recall, had he started that year they would have won state.

You're right. If there's a steak throwin contest, Rico's your man.

Well it will be different when our already thin line isn't playing on two different teams. But I was just making a statement.

In a green jersey? Simms looked awful because he never went through his progressions, and can't seem to throw the ball across his body at all.

Whether or not he was allowed to get hit, he was still having to move out of the pocket well before he had time to make his progressions. Not on all plays but there were several. The white team's o line gave bray a bit more time. I do think that Bray has much better tools than Simms.

We need to get together and throw a few back, plus I want to get with some Vol Fans and head to the game here in Memphis on Nov. 6th, and watch us kick the crap out of Tiger High !!!

I'm thinking about taking my son there since it's only an hour away.

Seriously, if you love UT football go back to work and don't look at anything until next year. I don't want you tying cinder blocks to your feet & jumping in the river.

Who's our starting QB ? What did he look like in the Spring ? Who is our #2 backup, and what does he look like ? What happened with the Bryce Brown ordeal ? Who is our starting runningbacks ? How did we look overall in The Spring Game ?

Well, you heard from the naysayers so let the eternally optimistic weigh in. According to Dooley, Simms is the starting QB. Bray will probably see substantial time. Bryce Brown is gone. Tauren Poole and David Oku. They will provide a potent backfield for Coach Chaney to utilize. Given the lack of experience that was evident in the Spring Game, we looked good. Are we ready to compete for National Championships? NO!! Can we win 7 to 8 games? YES!! Will we beat Florida, LSU and Alabama? NOT LIKELY!! However, an upset of one of the three is not out of the realm of possibility. Florida will be on a Tim Tebow hangover when we play them and Alabama has to replace pretty much their whole starting defense. LSU has Les Miles. Ain't nuthin' written in stone.

It takes time for things to come together. The staff apparently saw alot they liked about Simms. Nothing bad about Bray... just positives about Simms potential to make a good starter.

The OL has to improve for either to survive much less excel. As of this spring, either of them could have been the re-birth of Peyton and we wouldn't have known it. But there's a lot that can be and is being done between April and August. Wylie seems to be doing the job on UT's young OL.

We'll see if they are good enough to give either or both of the QB's a legit chance to show what they've got.
