Just for fun: Who's the best WR tandem in UT history?

Ha, that Peerless and Donte combo really was something wasn't it? Peerless making plays while Donte sat the bench redshirting. Stallworth didn't play til '99 and even then he took a couple of years to reach his potential.

Kept wondering how Donte left a yr early after 01' and Price left after 98', yet they not only played together, but were the greatest ever?

This is tough, but my vote is either Pickens / Harper or Stallworth / Washington.

Carl Pickens and Harper for sure. Add to that Anthony Morgan, who could burn it up.

Pickens and Harper were the best talent wise and the best period, but stats wise I'd say that Thomas Woods and Terrance Cleveland are up there towards the top.

I agree that the Pickens/Harper combo was the best but IMO Flemming/Faukner combo was a close 2nd. They were the leading receiving threats on the most potient offense in Vol history

Pickens and Harper were awesome and excellent at the next level as well. Pickens got stuck with the Bungles (but was an excellent receiver there) while Harper abused 49er cornerbacks in NFC Championships. I hated the Cowboys but I always knew it was just a matter of time before Troy pulled the play action and hit Harper deep.

I think Kent and Nash on the college stage were next as far as college success goes. Nash was a first round pick that didn't pan out but Peyton lit up the scoreboard with those two.

The whole WR platoon from 1990. I can't even recall who the starters were... they were all good. '89 had some good ones as well. Pickens (who was moved to DB), Harper, Morgan etc.

based solely on statistics, you have to put Nash/Kent at the top. I don't think that they are truly the best, but they've certainly got to be part of the conversation.

They were a very good duo but also look at who was throwing them those TDs and receiving yards...
