One good thing if you are traveling with kids is the free petting zoo on 1-16 EXIT 98. It's a Chevron Station with a free petting zoo beside it. We stop on the way back from Savannah a lot to break up the trip and gives the kids a break. It sounds corny but one of my favorite part of the trip. Some very cool animals there.
FYI... It's not quite free anymore. They've figured out that people will pay to feed the llamas and goats. :). Still a cheap diversion. My kids always want to stop there on the way to the beach.

Yes, you are correct sorry. I think its a $1 or so for a handful of feed. But still a very good, cheap stop like you said.

take i75 which turn in to 16 down to savannah and hop on 95 and take that to jax

Dont do this. 75 south to i10 east to i95. 16 to 95 has four times the cops than 75 and 10. I drive both routes several times per week for my job.

I've never really noticed that. They do tend to work the hell out of 75 between Atlanta and Macon and 16 in Dodge/Treutlen County. Thing about 16 is that there's so many doing 85 mph that you don't really have to worry about it as long as you drive like a normal person.

That makes sense. I actually live in Macon and I'm on 16 and 75 a ton. But I don't often have to get on I-95 for long stretches just because of where my customers are.

I think it's pretty well over now, but the construction on i75 from about Cordele south has made that a miserable stretch of road for the past couple of years.

Just booked hotel as well, definitely should have done that earlier when I got my tickets. Everything is quickly filling up, and the hotels know this as well! $$$$

Staying at Crowne Plaza Riverfront, would love to meet any Vol fans staying there or near. Go Vols!

Just from my research, Crowne Plaza seems to be one of the nicest in Downtown Jax, along with Hyatt and Omni. Plus the rooms looked fantastic, updated, etc. Also, went through Tripadvisor and looked at the reviews and it looked great and people seemed happy.

As far as water taxi, I see that it cuts across the river, so essentially instead of having to walk the two miles around the bridge and down to the stadium, you can catch it right below the hotel on the river and ferry across and be let off on the bank of the river near the stadium. However, I do not know how much it cost, when it operates, etc. I did see that it seems to just be pontoon boats.

Used my hotel points to get it. The place is $250 a night so I figured it is real nice, plus it has a Ruth Cris Steak House in it! :dance2: The water taxi runs 3 hours before and after the NFL games and has some standard hours. I can't wait to get down their!! :loco:

You'll see them running back and forth, I dont know what they'll charge on game day, but just find your way down
to the dock from your hotel, buy a roundtrip ticket (cash), and have a seat. They will deliver you to the stadium.

The Crowne Plaza is a very nice hotel. Lots to do on the south side of the river, especially in San Marco.

Wait, here ya go. $7 for a round trip, the taxis will run 3 hours before and after the game.
