Just behind the Vols' Bench

It’s the QB. The guy throwing for 5.6 yards a completion when you have two dynamic receivers out wide. They’ve shown their ability to win 50/50 balls but one deep shot won’t do it. At this point it’s a disservice to the fans and those receivers to continue to start JG. I think he threw two passes above 20 yards all game. But go ahead and praise checkdown Jesus for his completion percentage.

Thankfully you noticed the hurry up which can really get you gassed quick on the DL when you can't substitute due to speed of play or because you just don't have the guys to make wholesale subs.

But the hurry up is what Butch did while here and it led to quick 3 and outs and our D back on the field and getting gassed and gashed

The defense played well enough for us to win if we had a QB that could complete more than a screen pass. The only reason it was close is because we have one of the best WR corps in the conference. Not because of QB play.

The defense played well enough for us to win? Is this a joke? If the defense played like it should have, we win that game by 2-3 TDs with JG.

So after being in Fitzgerald's S&C program for 10 months, 2/3 of the way through the season, the defense can't muster 21 minutes of game-time in October night temps without getting utterly gassed?

Not sure we can blame Butch and company for that problem at this point.

Yes we most certainly can blame him. We are on our 3rd S&C program since 2015. Rock did basically nothing while he was here. So almost 3 years of S&C was lost and Fitz is supposed to fix that in 10 months? Ok then.

If Keller Chryst plays the entire game we win handily. There wasn’t one single play or one single throw that he could not have out performed JG at.

And I know the delusional JG nuts will be in soon claiming completion percentage and toughness and heart. I’ve heard it all guys. I love JG but if you can’t see by now that he’s hurting our chances of victory then you never will. So I’ll go ahead and say agree to disagree.

Speaking of delusional...

We are into year 10 of wait until he gets his players in here. Tired of hearing it. Could understand if the offensive line was a little tired because we are so limited by JG we have to resort to dink and dunk throws to get any yardage. The thing that I don't want to here is the defensive line was gassed. He's a thought, stop somebody on a three and out and go back and sit on the bench. Quit getting gashed up the middle with the run. Stop being career builders for bad offenses.

Good OP. In hindsight, perhaps the recent good practices needed an extra day of rest following the Auburn and Alabama games coming into S.C., who was coming off of their bye week.

You don't lift during the season to grow if you are playing. OL who red shirt will so they can grow into SEC linemen but we haven't even had that like a good program because of having to play young guys instead of an entire year lifting. Not taking OL and taking undersized guys has killed us. But FF guys, just keep showing how stupid you really are when it comes to football. Your not playing X box in real big boy football.

You should call up Georgia and let them know that they are doing it wrong.

Forgive me, I must have forgotten, what nationally accredited S&C certifications do you hold again?

JG had one really bad play, the last one, and that's only because he had 8 DBs on 4 receivers. WE lost because 4 times on 3rd and short and on 4n6 that we had penalties. 225 rushing yards is another reason. JG or Chryst are equal.

Wtf are you watching? That first deep ball hit Palmer right in the chest lol
You're not going to seriously argue that he didnt miss numerous throws by a mile are you? Sure the pass might have hit Palmer in the hands, after he stopped and turned around because it was grossly under thrown..

Hmm, 8 dbs in coverage, 3 rushers. Sounds like the middle was wide open for a 10 yard scramble. Anyone have a link to that last Tennessee series?

Quite obvious Richmond could have done a better job, it's also quite obvious Guarantano needs to see that coming from his right side, step up in the pocket and deliver the ball. Again, indecision lead to him waiting to step up.

Sitting in section 19 behind the Vols' bench yesterday evening, we UT fans and some very nice SCjr fans watched last night's hard-fought game with an additional dimension than that of some of these dubious posters who're assigning blame for such a disappointing outcome. UT's excessive TOP would've been an asset if only our guys had been able to spell those OL men who, by the fourth quarter, were so spent they could barely even stand up. To a very similar degree, UT's entire defensive squad was totally gassed, as well. All of those who witnessed this game...fans from both schools...couldn't help but notice and comment on the debacle on our sideline; that of a totally exhausted bunch of Vols trying to hold on against an obviously deeper squad of equally determined gamecocks. We had this game all the way until....until...yes, that's until, a drearily lack of substitutions on UT's O and D units finally began slowing our fellas down. This isn't just my view, let me remind y'all. This is what those football fans pulling from both sides noticed at the actual "scene of the crime." If you want to disagree, then at least first explain from where you observed this game. IMHO, the future is very bright in Big Orange Country...just the way it's rolling.

Thanks for the insight. Out of curiosity, what kinds of things were each team's fans saying? Regardless sounds like you were fortunate to be near some respectful fans, so that's good stuff.

If JG gets rid of the ball quicker, he avoids the hits. Are the receivers open? I can't tell. With our OL, he does need to Run for his life on about every play. JG has a thankless job. He can't generate wins behind this OL and their are no reliable substitutes. Everybody's favorite player is the 2nd team QB! CJP has to recruit like crazy for both sides of the line, and not let local talent, like Cade Mayes, go to places like UGA. Not his fault on that one, but, we have to keep those guys here!
