To your point 4, one could also read it that UT gets everyone's best shot and the next week is a let down for them. Every team that beat us went out and lost the next week.
yep. i think the days are numbered, just don't know what the number is.Right there with you Jakez... but you knew that.
Only thing we don't know is when. In a couple of weeks and finish out the season, or after this season is finally laid to rest.
Selfishly, I want to get it out there as soon as possible. Don't know how I'll hold up to another month and a half of this limbo..
You couldn't be more correct. We went after Spurrier. He turned us down. Then we went after Rodriquez. He accepted, then after his little old lady had a meltdown about leaving, he decided to turn down the offer.yep. i think the days are numbered, just don't know what the number is.
i've said this in the past when it comes to changes like this........timing is everything. sometimes waiting works, even if not by your original choice, a la Bama and Nick Saban, other times being first in the market works, a la Butch Davis at UNC.
it'll be interesting to see what happens if nothing else.
i think we're all hoping more for a Jim TRessell type hire right off the bat.You couldn't be more correct. We went after Spurrier. He turned us down. Then we went after Rodriquez. He accepted, then after his little old lady had a meltdown about leaving, he decided to turn down the offer.
Mal Moore has said on more than one occasion that when he landed in Miami to try to woo Nick Saban, that he told the pilot to just go on without him if he returned to the plane without Saban.
It'll all work out. If this is Fulmer's last season, the UT program is one of the upper echelon programs in the country, and you'll attract a good coach. That is, if your board doesn't tarnish the position and make the program endure the likes of Franchione, Price, and Shula first.
that's the thing. it's 05...again. in 05, it was the first time CPF had seen any real down times while at UT. 1 losing season. it does happen, even to good coches at good programs. after all the previous 13 years said "winner". hard at that point to hold 1 season over his head, he had earned the right to fix it, and he should be given the time to do so. at least that was my point of view then.Sounds like 05 all over again. There is just a lot more vocalization happening at this point than there was then. Those who gave Fulmer a free pass then, aren't as charitable now.
