Junior Finished?

ya i saw that on Nascar now yest. from what dale jarrett said was that Jr runs a complete diff setup than the other 3 hendrick teams. which makes me wonder wtf is goin on over there

Jr is starting to remind me of Kyle Petty. Son of a top driver, came in and had some good years, then became an average driver with a famous name.

It is not really unusual for teammates to run different setups. Gordon and Johnson don't run the exact same setup. Some drivers like a slightly loose car while some like a car that pushes a tad.

Jarrett was probably talking about a radically different setup for it to be worth mentioning. I maintain the biggest problem with Dale, Jr/Eury is race day communication on how to adjust for changing conditions. Charlotte personifies this, so they ran poorly there.

oh im not sayin they run the exact same package, but for the most part its very close, while Jr's is no where near the rest which blows my mind.

Jr finished 12th... Id say thats a step in the right direction
Absolutely...He ran in the top 5 for about 100 laps or so...Not sure of the exact # but he was up there for a while, I was at work so I don't know how long but he looked good today for a change

the crew chief change was the best thing that Jr could have hoped for (even though he would never admit it). I saw some quotes after the race that he and Eury Jr would not communicate on purpose because of pride issues and that he and Lance talked a ton throughout the race about the car's performance. This tells an outside observer all they need to know about why Jr. wasn't performing well. If you can't talk to your crew chief about how to make your car better, then your are finished in this sport.

Lance McGrew was supposed to take over this weekend... Brian Whitesell was going to be the crew chief at Dover bc McGrew was working with Keselowski, but Keselowski failed to qualify, so McGrew was the crew chief at Dover anyway... maybe thats what he is talking about? or maybe i took that way too far and hes just talking about the 2nd race

ya that's what i was thinkin as well(2nd race) but wasn't sure if there was goin to be another crew chief change

sorry for the confusion and the late follow-up to your question. I was talking about the 2nd race. but since that has come and gone and was a poor performance, I wonder if there will be another swap and keep trying till they hit on a pairing that works? Bottom line is Little E is struggling mightily and it's not likely to change anytime soon.

They said they made one adjustment that took them out of the ball park last week and it definitely showed...He was no better than a 10-15th place car last week but historically Jr. has never really ran that well at Pocono...That being said, he was 2nd fastest behind Mark Martin in practice this afternoon, he looks good this weekend, at least in practice, hopefully it will translate to the race tomorrow

If he doesn't make a serious push by the Talledega July race to be competitive he may see sponsor rats leaving the ship, he just doesn't have anyone's confidence anymore. I wonder where his is.....
