First of all I am a big Dooley supporter and believe he will return us to the 9-10 wins a year echelon of college football. That being said if for whatever reason he does fail(let's pray to God that no) we need to consider JUne Jones for our coaching job. What he did at HAwaii and is now doing at SMU is unbelievable. JUst a thought.

Dumb OP that will most likely spawn a dumb thread.

It produces stupid results. Why are people looking so far into the future? I'm not sure, but they are wasting their time.

Like the OP I'm also a Dooley guy and hope and believe he will be our coach for years to come. If he isnt, I think Hart is the type that will hire BIG. From whats been said about him so far, he is a great AD and isnt a total vag like Hamilton was.

I try to forget those days.

The concepts he and Mouse Davis developed are still used this day by most all professional and college teams. I saw the Patriots run switch the other day. The seam read is also a very common route, used by almost everyone, that came from these guys.

And my thread about people starting BS threads gets deleted? How can this one remain? There is too many what if threads on DCs and HCs and all sorts of other asinine stuff.

What was your point? You said he turned teams around in the NFL.

My point was simply that what he is doing at SMU has been done in the pro's, so to say it can't be done in the SEC is a bit of a stretch. The Houston Oilers were coached by some of his disciples and made it to a conference championship, the New York Giants OC was a member of that staff and used many of those concepts on their way to Eli's first Super Bowl. The Giants still use many Run N Shoot concepts today. So to say that it can't work in the SEC, I don't believe that.

I never said he turned an NFL team around. That takes a lot more than a cool offense.

The run n shoot is everywhere. I said "notice he isn't turning these teams around in a big conference" and you replied "he did these things in the NFL".

No, you said "he isn't doing these things in a big conference"

I assumed we were talking about his offense, but Bruce Pearl wasn't doing "these things" in a big conference before he was hired either. Just because a coach hasn't coached in the SEC does not mean that what he does could never work in the SEC

If it's not the offense, then please tell me why he can not do what he is doing in a larger conference?
