all of you can go learn how to watch some film and know his assignments then come back and tell me how good he is......

he is an incredible kid who tries very hard and does make some plays.....but he screws up a lot, gets out of position very much.....plays flat-footed sometimes.....slow to react....and usually has a hard time getting off blocks....

but he makes a lot of tackles 7-8 yds down the field so I guess he be good....

lots of folks said the same type of things about the reveiz kid...but he wasn't very good, either....

How's that tampa.....no capital letters.....you all better now bumpkin'?????

ban yourself :salute:

He played WELL against Florida.....but if you watched him closely against UGA and against aTm--you would not have made your post.....

The kid did make a FEW plays against UGA and aTm.....but he STUNK IT UP on a LOT MORE PLAYS......

He is outmatched---and it's gonna get worse against BAMA......

Sorry to deflate your bubble.....I like the guy......but the BIG EYE IN THE SKY DON'T LIE.....

Watch the films of the games and know a little about his assignments...

I KNOW that I'll get called an azz.....but the TRUTH is the TRUTH! He hurt more than he helped today in the overall scheme of the game...

**** this guy

but but but...

Jumper never should have been started.

He wouldn't start for this team if our TWO starting LBs were not injured....that's just the truth....HE'S A SUB...and he's starting because the 1st team guys are injured...

He wouldn't be starting for any other SEC team

This is absolutely true--except for maybe Kentucky or Vandy.....

Sorry dude.....he made ONE play all game tonight in a key situation.....that doesn't mean he should be a starter....

:salute:

Put the bottle down. Not sure what game you watched but Jumper played like an all star!

from the end of last season until last night, he has gained so much heart. You can't coach that. Is the the fastest and best, no. But he plays his heart out and puts it all out there. Hats off to him.

This entire conversation is about your perspective. Is CJ as good an athlete as most starting SEC linebackers? No. He is a step to slow and not as physical as most.

That in NO WAY takes away from the heart and grit this kid has shown this year. I've rarely seen someone step up the way he has and truly represents team 120 in the best of all ways.

I said early on we would be on trouble if Shoop had to protect him schematically and that has not been the case. In every game, like every player, he has his ups and downs but I believe there is way more good than bad.

And for the guy spouting off about watching film.... Really? You have a set-up at the house and do film study? CBJ sending you game tape to review for him? Put your clown costume back on and go scare the neighbors.

So did some other players. No on is perfect.

yeah...but he's white.

I still believe this along with him not being highly recruited are the reasons most of the haters jump on Jumper. To them he just can't be any good because of his race. These same folks love on McDowell, but Jumper has clearly been outperforming him since they both became starters playing basically the same position? They act like Maybin and Kirkland never got blocked or lost in the scrum when they were playing?

I recall 2 specific plays yesterday that really impressed me. A&M was running to the left and it appeared their RB was going to make the corner and Jumper was fast enough to get to the corner first and blew up the RB. The other was when he broke down one on one on a short pass in the flat and cleanly tackled the A&M guy. Maybe others recall these 2 plays also.

The play he made in the flat was outstanding. That said, I'm sure he missed a few plays that he should have made.

He is a liability on far too many plays. He isn't even a factor many times during running plays and as a linebacker that is not a good sign.

"Put your clown costume back on and go scare the neighbors" gave me my first belly laugh of the morning. Thank you!

I watched film on Kirkland and Jumper, my conclusion is Jumper is not as bad as a bunch on here say and Kirkland is not as great as some say. Both of them miss assignments. Kirkland is a better Blitzer and he's still young very high ceiling.

This is all true, agreed. I'll just say that going in knowing his limitations athletically, he's played better than I expected he would. That's all you can ask for.

But you're right in all of the above. Which is why he is where he is on the depth chart.

If you believe Colton Jumper "graded" out higher than Barnett then you are as idiotic as the person that came up with that arbitrary number.

I see...and you've graded the film already, analyzing a slew of data points to come up with a number that validates your opinion? Please, share your findings with no-nothing dolts like me...:zeitung_lesen:

This young man plays with passion, heart, and the love for his school. Anyone that talked ill of this young man should feel ashamed because they have never played a down of Div 1 ball but find it necessary to tear down a player who makes mistakes. Colton has done a great job being put in the situation he was thrown into and ANYONE who has anything degrading to say about this young man is PATHETIC! Plain and simple.

I was blessed to have played college ball and I would bet 90% of the fans that talk the most about players never made it past city league or rode the pine in High School.

My question is this:

If we get Kirkland back next week, do they leave Jumper at Mike and play DK at Sam, or do they slide CJ over and play DK at Mike? It seems to me that with JRM out, Kirkland and Jumper are our two best linebackers, and if McDowell is out there's absolutely no question, so both need to be on the field.

I'll say this. Has he improved yes. But if we was not in great need at LB. He would not see the field much.
