Question for anyone and everyone. Why do we have such a large Jumbo Tron? Looks like a waste of money if you ask me. The reason I ask is they rarely ever play the replays and almost never play the game with the Tron at full screen. This is really aggravating considering we just improved it and it looks great. I understand advertisements but do they really need the money that bad that the timeouts and halftime is not enough time for Ads?

The ads make it look so small and I think it would be even more impressive to the recruits and the FANS if they would play it full screen or atleast put a real small banner ad at the bottom like ESPN or something.

Is it just me or do others feel the same?

Haha if it looks like wasting money then it probably is. You know they used to leave the old one on all the time? Something about being afraid to shut it off for some odd reason.

I agree, they showed a full field view during halftime and it was awesome. We should get that view at least 75% of the time.

Whenever they take the ads off it is huge. They have to make money though, and everyone looks at the jumbotron so that is a good place to put the ads. I like the new jumbotron. Much better than the old one.

They show it full screen when only 50% of the people are there watching. I do believe I saw it full screen for the majority of one of the games that was on pay-per-view I think?? It was awesome.

Also, is the other side of the jumbo tron a TV as well? If so they should play it back there as well. Only when the stadium is at full capacity though:rock:

The back side is not a screen. Just pictures. That would be awesome though.

Bummer but its still cool.

I can't remember which stadium but I am pretty sure its an SEC stadium that has a smaller version of the jumbo tron on both ends. That would be cool to see. Whats another 50 million. Should be able to make that off of the ads:)

I'm pretty sure LSU has two. Mississippi State has the largest HD Jumbotron in the SEC and the second largest HD jumbotron in the nation. Texas has the biggest.

Thanks for the info. Seems like were coming up just short. Smaller jumbo tron and now their reducing the stadium seating. What the :censored: is going on?

Agreed. I just hope alabama's stadium doesn't go above ours for capacity as I have heard it would. That would just suck.
If they expand the south endzone of Bryant-Denny Stadium by adding an upper deck, it will be bigger than Neyland Stadium. They are almost done planning to start the construction. So in the near future Bryant-Denny Stadium will be bigger than Neyland Stadium. We need to expand. There's not much left to expand here though.

It is suppose to be done for the opener of the 2010 season and hold 103,000+

We don't even appear to have HD cameras for our screen because the only time it's in HD is when prerecorded videos are playing, the rest are just a stretched SD frame.

I see what you are saying. The ads are a sellout to the corporation. However, keep in mind those who are going to pay for phases 4 and 5 of Neyland's renovations.

General Neyland must've been rolling in his grave when he saw the Pilot logo below his picture.
