You mean to tell me that Hyams - who lives to judge, critique, criticize, belittle, make fun of anything that has to do with the UT football team, it's coaches, it's athletes and sports in general was himself judged and criticized???
How is this even possible? Should we call commish Slive on Jimmy's behalf?
I for one am terribly offended ---not.
Like my grandma used to say "What's good for the goose"
Sorry, can't dig up any empathy for Jimmy. He cried about the Black Jersey Scoop and journalistically he did a terrible job of sourcing out the story outside of Official Channels and then complained about it for a week. Verrrrrrrry Weak Journalism if you can even call it that.
Just my opinion.

Other than making one call to Mike Hamilton, Hyams did nothing to find out about the black jerseys. Every coach, every player, every manager, every trainer, every girl friend, most of the parents, most of the students, probably a fourth of the fan base knew we were wearing black jerseys and Jimmy was still reporting absolutely no chance we wear black jerseys. " Does Jimmy know any coaches, any players, managers - heck does he even know anybody in Knoxville who would talk to him and give him a scoop the next time something happens at UT.
I know technically it is his job - but apparently he is out of the loop somewhat now that Phil is gone so he gets mad and pouts a lot if he doesn't get the scoop. We all know that he's not going to work and investigate to get a story. He made his one call to an official source and that was good enough for Jimmy and it should be good enough for us as well.
Does he even live in Tennessee or is he still living and reporting from La. and occasionally making a call to an Official source in Tn?

Hey Jimmy. Here's a scoop for you, a secret if you will. It is part of Mike Hamilton's job to keep the black jerseys a secret. He didn't even tell his staff. In fact he told his staff that there were no black jerseys. The black jerseys have more of an impact and effect you see if everyone including national media, the South Carolina team, and others don't already know about it several days in advance. So MH did his job and he did it well.
Your job is to check with all channels---proper and otherwise, official and non official in order to determine what is actually taking place. So MH did his job well --- you---not so much.
Thats often why they call it a scoop and it is oft times obtained outside proper channels. Just letting you know.
I have never worked in journalism, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I think that is the way it is supposed to work.
Hyams called me a liar on air before on something I was right about, so as far as I'm concerned that POS can fall in a hole and die.
Hopefully he gets fired over this Janzen deal.
To put this in the proper perspective, Heather Harrington out scooped Hyams the day before the game, while Hyams was in denial all the way up to the kickoff show on Saturday.Hey Jimmy.
