Well according to "Meat Market" Coach O wasn't high on him at all...I guess by some miracle he suddenly turned into a SEC qb over night...He must have, coach Kiffin wouldn't have recruited just a warm body now would he?

Will Matt be a walk on or did they give him a scholarship? Last I heard they had not offered him a scholarship.

no offense to Coach O (because he's great at seeing D talent) but he also thought Schaeffer was an SEC qb.

Plus if we listened to message boards we would have a Pirate as our head coach :whistling:

More healthy QB competition. If Kiffin wants him, I want him. Remember when nobody wanted Crompton?

Rucker did say on Twitter Matt had a broken hand but has been cleared to start throwing again next week.

Also, did anybody point out he was teammates with Kembrell Thompkins?

I saw the question raised, not sure if anyone answered it or not, but Simms will have two years of eligibility remaining. Perhaps Simms/Stephens will battle it out for the starter unless Bray is very impressive during spring. Otherwise, Bray would most likely redshirt. Thoughts???

Simms was a winner in HS, at juco, and has the genes.

Made some stupid decisions at UL, but UT should be used to that stuff. Lets see what happens.

We have Simms, Stephens, Lamaison, and Bray all on our roster for next season. I see the battle for the starting job between Simms/Stephens with Bray being redshirted.

I just found out Matt Simms has had a broken hand... not sure if this is old news or maybe the reason the offer came so late - staff wanted to make sure he would be okay.

He has been cleared to resume throwing next week.

Anyone have any insight on this???

If anything, this should put to rest all of the "big-fish"QB rumors that would come in Jan.

Can we agree that Kiffin is done recruiting QB's for the '10 class??

Sure we can agree, but not sure how that has anything to do with Kiffin's recruiting plans.

Where does Lamaison fit into all of this? I was really routing for him since there were such great JUCO numbers. I would have thought Lamaison > Simms. Haven't really heard much of him since he joined the teamed.
