‘23 JUCO LB Justin Jefferson (Alabama commit)

It’s a real shame we got in on this guy as late as we did
Got in on him pretty much the same time as everyone else. Offered the same week as Oregon, A&M, FSU, USC...five days after Bama and Ole Miss.

Now, should we have gotten in on him back in April, whenever the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana and 49ers of Charlotte were hot after him? Maybe.

Didn’t Florida offer him nearly a month before we did?

And the usual suspects would have been bisching about offering someone with those offers. 😎

Arkansas can have it.
Meh, I'm not expressing any bias about him being in-state, if that's the bee in your bonnet. I would like to be able to get Jefferson. A foothold in Memphis is a strength, same as a foothold anywhere. There are a lot of good athletes there, and I don't like losing good athletes anywhere. I didn't like us playing games there. But I went to one and ate half my body weight in BBQ.

Edit: "sentimentality" to "bias"

Plenty of hotbeds for players. Memphis is one.
