What Josh Dobbs did from 2014-2016 with that porous offensive line and inept coaching staff was nothing short of a miracle.

Imagine what he could have done at a place like Ohio State? He would have put up all-time historic numbers.

He isn't a running QB though. If you watched his pre-season games he has become a pocket-passer who uses his legs occasionally to salvage plays that break down. Pittsburgh has rarely called designed run plays for him. He has made some laser throws for TD's. He is playing like a Pro-Style QB not a dual-threat. His ability to run just gives him an additional element to utilize when plays do break down. For example, the pocket collapsed on their second drive against the Panthers and he used his legs to scramble out of the pocket and make a really good throw for a TD that some slower QB's might not have made.

Correct. Pitt has spent years assembling an OL unlike most other teams. They've grown up blocking for a guy who scrambles in the backfield as long as he can in order to make a play. Dobbs has changed his game up to fit this, he just has the speed to take off downfield when need be, instead of trying to stay in the backfield like Ben does.

Pittsburgh is the perfect opportunity for him to excel in the future. I'm glad he got to stay there. Even as much as I hate Pittsburgh.

Crazy cuts in the NFL today. Dan Bailey cut from the Cowboys, Roberto Aguayo (the kicker that TB used the high round pick on). JT Barrett, the QB from Ohio State, Bo Scarborough from Bama was cut by the Cowboys too (which makes no sense because aside from Zeke, the Cowboys have nobody talented at RB)

But excited for our Vols that did make rosters, and hope that these other guys find spots.
