After the tough loss today, this is some unexpected good news:
Steelers go big on Mason Rudolph, Josh Dobbs and Le'Veon Bell backups
I personally though that he would have to jump ship this year.
Think he will be presumptuous heir to Big Ben? Running QB's don't last long in the NFL
That's good news. Learning to play differently will really help him. I hope he has a great career. He isn't a running QB though. If you watched his pre-season games he has become a pocket-passer who uses his legs occasionally to salvage plays that break down. Pittsburgh has rarely called designed run plays for him. He has made some laser throws for TD's. He is playing like a Pro-Style QB not a dual-threat. His ability to run just gives him an additional element to utilize when plays do break down. For example, the pocket collapsed on their second drive against the Panthers and he used his legs to scramble out of the pocket and make a really good throw for a TD that some slower QB's might now have made.
add Bray to the cut listMore Vols in NFL news.
Jason Croom apparently made the Bills roster.
Kendal Vickers, sadly, was cut from the Steelers.
LaTroy Lewis was cut from the Texans.
Ethan Wolfe cut from the Titans.
James Stone was cut from the Raiders
Colton Jumper cut from the Saints
Emmanuel Moseley got cut from the 49ers (extremely shocking, he had a great preseason)
Trevor Daniels is the #1 Punter for Houston Texans, beating out one of the best punters of this era.
Crazy cuts in the NFL today. Dan Bailey cut from the Cowboys, Roberto Aguayo (the kicker that TB used the high round pick on). JT Barrett, the QB from Ohio State, Bo Scarborough from Bama was cut by the Cowboys too (which makes no sense because aside from Zeke, the Cowboys have nobody talented at RB)
But excited for our Vols that did make rosters, and hope that these other guys find spots.
