He deserves it. I just hope he keeps on playing lights out

There's something about his personality and demeanor that make me think he will keep doing just that. He doesn't strike me as someone who would get overconfident and let it all go to his head. He seems like an intelligent, down to earth, hard working kid and I think he'll lead us to a bowl.

Not so fast! If JD helps the team win out I'm all in, one game is a small sample. THat said, so far his performance gives a hungry fan base reasons to be optimistic and excited. :clapping: :good!:

I'm expecting some reticence from the quasi-negavols. Remember Mister Dobbs moved this offense against an Alabama defense that destroyed some top 10 offenses. I'll stay with my optimism with even a semi-decent game out of him versus UK. Who wants to bet he'll stink up Neyland, though, against them...or Mizzou or in Nashville versus Vandy? I wouldn't bet against the man. If there were some Vol commits getting antsy, let's guess they're feeling good about being Vols now. Nice post, Vollygal, and Great job Mister Dobbs!

The look on his face when he was brought in vs Alabama told me all I need to know. The kid is a warrior.

JD is taking 16hrs, amazing he has time for football. He ain't exactly taking map folding and basket weaving.

I read that for the first time today. He knows how to study in a way that makes him successful, that's for sure. He's doing it with football too.

I realize that one game doesn't mean a lot. But I have to say this. If he were to become a prolific player that gets his team wins, I honestly cannot think of anything better for the University of Tennessee. Pride in your team, and your quarterback, would reach an all time high for me.

A student athlete who excels in the classroom, and on the football field, is what dreams are made of for this Tennessee fan.

Not so fast, yourself! It's actually 1.75 games. He looked good Vs. Alabama even though we didn't win. You are seeing the shell of our future offense. We'll be fine, I assure you.

This! Everyone keeps saying 1 game...I guess they are forgetting he did pretty damn good against Bama.

Keep in mind that Astro has an eidetic memory, (meaning he remembers almost everything he sees down to detail). If this really is true. Having a quarterback with an eidetic memory will be (Insert adjective here)! To look at tape. Remember it to detail, then go out on the field, look at the defense, quickly understand, and learn on the fly. We could be looking at a once in a Vol time era. The next 3 games will say a lot about expectations of next year and how we will end recruiting this year. I've not been this hopeful since Bray was a freshman. Luckily, we know Astro has a much better head on his shoulders since he is majoring in Rocket Science and Bray was majoring in Rocketing Bottles. :)
