I usually don't question the coaching that much since they know a lot more than I do about foozeball; but it seemed curious to me that Smith was in on the Hail Mary play rather than a much bigger player such as Preston or Wolf. Maybe they were thinking Wolf was not fast enough, and Preston might drop the ball.

Butch explained the play after the game and the individual roles of each player. The players formed a triangle around Jennings and basically Smith was there for a cleanup if it was tipped.

Josh was fast enough to get down there and small enough to be the closest to the ground had there been a knockdown or deflection, imo. Well designed play.

You are noticing something I'm beginning to realize as well I just don't think maybe many see it yet. Butch is playing moneyball. He put receivers in that position that statistically catch the ball.

Remember when Josh Smith dropped all those balls his freshman year? My wife still calls him the dropper. He no longer deserves it but it's stuck in our family.... I do love to see a Knoxville boy have success for UT though.

Credit CBJ and staff for making sure our players understood their roll in this play. It may seem like a small detail but the Georgia defense seem to have no idea how to defend this. The way they defended the play gave us a really high probability of completing it.

He made two great catches Saturday. The one diving fly pattern in traffic. And the one great toe tapper at the sideline. All though he was out of bounce but a hell of a catch either way. Kid has great concentration on the ball.

Another great thing to notice is what Croom does as the ball is coming down. He doesn't try to fight back to the ball (since that's not his job). Instead he lets his momentum take him into the UGA DB's and takes 3 Georgia players out of the play.

That catch he made in traffic was absolutely phenomenal. Great placement by Dobbs as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this as well. He clears out those players and gives Jennings a little breathing room.

Its a kudos to the coaching staff that the players knew their job and executed it well on a game saving play. It's easy to think a hail Mary is just a Chuck and pray type play.

Figured Jeff George would be in that at 6-6. He looked great in Spring but hear nothing anymore about him. Figure HailMary is the easiest route to run.

If Smith wasn't out there we would not have been able to see his hilarious celebration.
