Makes sense to me. Boston saw Grant's FT% and probably thought he had the potential to become a decent 3-point shooter. Wonder what JRich's FT% was his senior year ? Probably not as high as Grant's, but close to 75% would be my guess
Particularly in the cases for guys like Grant, 3p % is not reliable because he took so few. He took a lot of FT's, and you can see he has built reliable shooting skill there, and that usually translates
