His fatal flaw was simple. He either would not or could not hire an OC he could trust other than David Cutcliffe.

But he did hire the right OC. The idiot Hamilton fired him before he could get the offense turned around. When Clawson was hired, it was noted that, everywhere he went, the first year his offense sputtered. Then it started to hum in year 2 and got better every year thereafter. Wake Forest is probably the favorite to win the ACC this year. Had Fulmer been given another year, we more than likely would not have gone thru the hell of the last 15 years! Clawson would probably be our HC now, having won the SECE 3-5 times during that time.
