Josh Pate eats crow about the Vols (and other teams)

There's a reason I stopped watching or listening to any non-game garbage more than 20 years ago - the insights of these "experts" are no more or less meaningful or accurate than those of any fan who pays attention, and often less so, as the idiotic comments about us missing Nico all off season can attest.

Anyone who watched the games last season and how he handled the whole mess after spring ball wouldn't question the idea that UT would be far better off without Nico, especially after seeing Aguilar handle the offense in the Syracuse game. There's a reason that Josh was quick to dump Nico when this all went down, as if he knew in his heart of hearts that the kid was not what he was touted to be and hadn't shown the progress that was expected.

Are you making up some fantasy in which I didn’t know when the pick was made?

It was a stupid pick. I’m sorry you can’t see it that way. This is the same Alabama team that played in 2024, no matter who the new players are. Show me where you saw the improvement?
So based on what Alabama has been doing for 20 years, you think it's out of the realm of possibility they could have won it all? My goodness. Preseason it was a reasonable pick, now...not so much. He admitted it was a bad pick.

What gets me is guys like him that do it for a living should be better at picking how good teams will be than people like me. No one is going to be perfect but you would think they would be closer than a guy like me whose knowledge comes from watching a ton of college football and reading a few sites.

As a TN fan, I learned my lesson about rating based off what used to be in the 2000’s.

I see good players at Alabama, but they haven’t looked like a championship team since 2022. I compare them to Ohio State and Georgia; I can’t see the competitive edge in Alabama.

I've said it over and over and over again - these media hacks are nothing more than glorified fans with a gift of gab that can attract clicks and views, which is all their shows are really about. And the same goes for the network clowns, including most of the ones who played and coached in the league - it's rare you get any real insight from any of them, with a few exceptions (Saban).

In terms of football knowledge and insight I'll take the word of a fan who pays attention and watches and understands the game before these whores for clicks and views, who need to provide click-bait to make their living.

I like Pate. I like Brandon Walker and that Tennessee dude too. If you lose it over any CFB you alright in my book.
