Josh Pate-Big Ten QB rankings

Drew Allar potentially being the best QB in the B1G should be concerning. He was awful, awful, versus Notre Dame. They had no business losing that game, but he did not complete a pass to a single WR.
Overall, It seems there are a lot of questions at quarterback for CFP contenders going into this season. Arch is an unknown at Texas, Julian Sayin is an unknown, Stockton at UGA isn’t anything special, Lagway at UF, Dante Moore at Oregon unknown, Bama, Notre Dame, even Beck at Miami is a question mark. The only really known quantities are Sellers at USCjr, Nuss at LSU, Clemson w/ Klubnik, Altmeyer at Illinois and Avery Johnson at K State. Crazy year ahead

Nico missed spring practice with his present team, and he is surrounded by less talent at, probably, 9 positions on his new offense. He may not have a great year.
I would bet he’s “injured” before the Ohio state game. Dude is going to get killed with that Oline. I bet daddy and agent have him sit that game.

Several of those ahead of Nico have never played a meaningful down in CFB.

On one hand, these experts say he’s not real good while, at the same time, saying Tennessee will be hurt he’s not here. Which is it?

I don’t give a flying F of he ever wins anything again or not but the guy did bring his team back 3 times in the second half vs Alabama. That should account for something.

could be they believe that Joey Aguilar is worse than Nico.

I think the only party you can realistically argued in the whole deal was UCLA. Nico will be an improvement over whatever they had. they are that bad. Nico got way worse, because he is going to a way worse team for less money than he already had. UT is saving money, but likely has a worse QB situation.

Both can be true though. I hope not, but we have seen far worse qbs than Nico

I think the flip side to that coin is that we probably could’ve been up 3 scores in that game if he had hit guys running behind the Bama secondary and not thrown an atrocious pick in the red zone.

No doubt he played a terrible first half but it shows something putting that behind you & playing a great 2nd half. More that several on that list have shown.

Yes, we allow the big 10 their token championship once every 10 years so they don’t quit. Quota has been met. Time for things to normalize again with the Big 10 taking their rightful place as an inferior conference. No, I don’t count the * Michigan title either. Who cares about their teams or how they rank their QBs.

Whole lot of new starters, much like the SEC. It will be interesting to see if someone with a returning QB, like Penn State, Illinois or LSU in the SEC can make a deeper run that they have been recently. One thing is for sure, Sayin will have the best WR group in the country on the receiving end. It won’t shock me if he wins the Heisman.

So you’re saying this is a lose-lose situation, at least potentially.
