I think Saban's replacement is already on the Bama staff. Butch is the air-apparent to Saban you can tell by the way they are heaping responsibility on him.

thank you , thank you, I will be on every Tuesday and Friday, Try the lamb.

Oh, and I think right now only Dabo would make the short list as a real option to replace Saban if he were to quit tomorrow.

Dabo would be their first choice IMO. I doubt Pruitt would get an interview unless he starts winning like we all hoped he would. bama ain't hiring someone who can't beat them.

I bet Saban retires 3-4 years from now.

If Pruitt still isn't winning by then, we may be paying his buyout.

Alabama could get him on the cheap. Lol

I do believe pruit would take that job in a second, no matter what's going on at ut. Too bad his lack of developing 3 4 and 5star qbs in year 3 is gonna hold him back

Who ever takes over after Nick, will be set up for failure. Nick wants one more Natty. If he wins it and gets out that will be an impossibly high standard for the next man. If he doesn't then he will have an increasingly more difficult time in recuiting the older he gets. Just like was done to Spurrier and Bobby Bowden, recuits will be told "Saban is not going to be the coach much longer, he'll be gone before you are done." The cupboards will be bare for the next man.

1) nobody really thinks dabo is going to leave Clemson or that someone would pay the 50 million dollar buyout anyway. Cause you'd have to pay hum and his staff 20 million a year anyway, they make 17 now
2) nobody wants to follow Saban. There is no upside. You will, at best, be equal to him.

Dabo would be crazy to leave Clemson to follow Saban, If Sark stays until Saban retires, he will take the hit. No one should want to be the first coach after Saban.

Former Alabama quarterback Josh Palet discusses Crimson Tide football, who replaces Nick Saban

I definitely think there will always be an offer to Pruitt to come back to Alabama post Nick Saban. I do think it would feel like a "settle" hire for Bama since Dabo will undoubtedly say no to Alabama as Alabama offers him nothing that he doesn't already have. He is a shoe-in for the playoff with Clemson every year. Getting to the playoff is what its all about. Why take a harder path?

I think Bama would make a run at Pruitt if Pruitt has a few good seasons at Tennessee (9/10 win seasons with some consistent big wins).......

The one good thing about Bama pursuing Pruitt down the road is that Pruitt would have to have Tennessee rolling....

THIS all day. IF they don't get Dabo (which they won't), the hire they make will be a "settle" hire...... I actually look forward to the Bama fan base going crazy. when Dabo turns them down since they think he is the guy

I am with you on that. Usually replacing the man goes badly. In this instance it's mega times worse given the new coach will be following the greatest dynasty in the of college football. Finebaum will be must see tv when the meltdown begins.

I live in AL. I don't hear any AL fans talking about Dabo being the next guy. They understand he is the 'Saban' of Clemson and would be stupid to leave. I honestly don't know who they can get to follow a legend like that.
