Josh Malone is having a great camp.

He was an unappreciated guy here, he really put it all together in his last season as as a Vol. I haven't found the stat anywhere but I bet he holds the single season YPC record at UT
Way to go Murph! Here is the stat from the media guide:

Average per reception:
Min. 50 rec.—19.4, Josh Malone 2016 (50 for 972)
Min. 75 rec.—15.4, Marcus Nash 1997 (76 for 1,170)

As a lifelong Bengals fan, I really hope Malone blossoms into a solid WR. He reminds me a lot of former Bengals WR Chris Henry (RIP) who also had a knack for getting behind defenses and making big plays. Hope Malone does well enough that we can dump Ross who is a bad fit for Daltons game anyway.

I was about 12years old. My friends down the street were from Cincy, I watched Boomer & Icky go to the Super Bowl...

30 years later I feel I've paid a price. The worst decade in NFL history my teens and early 20's, The Lost Decade, worse than the expansion Buccaneers first 10 years. They ruined my childhood. But I was raised right, and when you pick a team, you stick by your team.

I'd love to see Malone ball out. I think of all the guys vying for 3rd WR/4th after Green is back, Malone has by far the best measurables.

Our coach is in love with a coupe of the other WR's as they contribute more on special teams though. I think he's gonna have to outperform them handily.

BTW, this is probably Dalton's last year as a Bengal unless he has a balls out resurgence and outplays himself. I don't think we push a WR with Ross's upside out for a journeyman game manager.

BTW, isn't it bittersweet whenever you see a Vol end up in Pittsburgh?

I don’t think he was unappreciated. He just didn’t live up to his rating coming out of high school, but I think that had more to do with poor coaching and scheming than anything. I’m sure had he gone to a different school that he would have put up huge numbers.

It took him way too long to blossom based on his rating. But yes, it may have been Lyle.

Oh i agree its been a miserable life as a Bengals fan. I always joke with my dad that hes guilty of child abuse for raising me to love the Vols and Cincy lol. Im 29 so theyve never won a playoff game in my life. Watching them go 11-6 with an explosive offense featuring Palmer, Chad, Housh, Henry and Rudi, then seeing both Henry and Palmer blow their knees out on the same play of their first offensive series and lose to an inferior Pitt in the playoffs was such a heartbreaker. I hope this is Daltons last year, hes so up and down and is never going to win the big game. If they can replace him and stay healthy theyve got some potential. Just hope this Sean Mcvay coaching tree hire pans out.
