I really liked the hoodie Tim Banks was wearing. I want one. Is that commercially available?

No, you can't have Banks' hoodie. He plans on keeping it until he graduates, as for whether he'll sell it at that time, or just give it to some kid fan, is unknown.

I have alot faith in Heupel and Golesh directing the offense I think we are going to be really good on that side of the ball. However I have serious doubts on the the other side of the ball with Tim Banks and the defense. I don’t think our defense will be any better than last season.

Dang, working on a PhD when you have a high pressure, full-time job as a coach sounds really difficult. Kudos to coach Banks.

The defense doesn’t really have a lot of room to be worse. It’ll be better. How much better is the question

Per this he graduated from CMU. Not seeing a Master's degree let alone a PHd. Tim Banks - Football Coach - University of Tennessee Athletics
Okay, so you didn't follow that conversation all the way through.

--> You said you'd like to have the hoodie Tim Banks was wearing in the press conference
--> Woodsman replied that you can't have it, Tim Banks will keep it until he graduates. [one gets the impression that Woodsman thought Tim Banks was a player, not a coach, but no way of knowing for sure what he was thinking]
--> BuckeyeLand joked back [knowing Tim is a coach, so not an undergrad] about Tim keeping his hoodie until he gets his doctorate
--> Woodsman promptly said oops, sorry
--> And then you jumped back in, friend :)

Heh, no biggie, but basically you missed the point BuckeyeLand was making to Woodsman: he's not a player, he's a coach. Gotta read between the lines to see it, but it's definitely there.

Go Vols!

I like watching Alex Golesh speak.

He seems very humble and knows exactly what Heupel wants to do in his offense.

He’ll make a great HC one day. Just hope we can hang onto him for a good while.
Lane Kiffin wanted him. Didn’t get him.

Don’t think we will be any better on defense. Looking at 7-5. Losses to Pitt, FL, serious beat down to AL, LSU & another serious beat down to GA. Could loose to KY. Could make Levis look like a Heisman contender. 6-6? We have got to start getting top 5 recruiting classes or will not be able to complete for championships. Spend the NIL money.

Same here. Our DBs are the most concerning. Hope I'm wrong

Bob Stoops and Josh Heupel came to Oklahoma in 1999 and went 7 -5. The next year, they went 13-0 and won a national championship. This after Oklahoma going 17-27-1 in the 4 seasons prior to their arrival.

I am not saying that JH will go 13-0 and win a national championship, but he did it as a player and knows how it is done. The Big 12 of 2000 and the SEC of 2022 are not really comparable, I get that. But I think that JH is the guy for the long haul and will do way better than any of his rivals ever expected or want him to.

Will get head coaching offers within a year & deservedly so. So will Banks. Heupel is a good young coach. Other good young coaches are going to want to come here. AD White got something going on here. Hope Administration appreciates what is going on in football, baseball, basketball, Lady Vols basketball, Lady Vols softball. Need to keep White. May be the best AD in the country.

Very generous of you. Your recap has gotta help.

I sadly think the way you do, yet I'm hoping our defense coaches can scheme around our weaknesses. Perhaps even make our defense guys take a cerebral leap and surprise everyone, including themselves.

I agree with you. I think 8-4 is the ceiling this year and should be expected but 7-5 or even 6-6 wouldn’t surprise me either. We should go bowling again but how long will the fans put up with 7-5 Music city bowl type seasons and getting dominated by our three rivals every year and being a perennial middle tier team? Finishing 14 and 16 in the recruiting rankings isn’t going to cut it either if we want to compete for championships.

Pffft.

8-4 isn't the ceiling. It's not quite the floor, but it's pretty close to it.

We will not do worse than 7-5. We will probably go 8-4 or 9-3. We have a real chance at 10-2.

Ceiling, my butt. :)

Go Vols!
