Josh Heupel Receives Extension Through 2030

Sounds like it was truly a good deal.
Deal being both sides walk away happy.
UT got some assurance Heupel is sticking around and will get some money if he does leave.
Heupel gets a favorable buyout structure with the dates and decreases over the next few years...I mean honestly how bad would this year have to be for him to be dismissed by December 15th.
We'd have to only win 3 or 4 games. That ain't happening.

I disagree with extending any football coach at UT that cannot produce a win against UGA.
That used to be UF...but we are 2-2 vs them now

That used to be ALA...but we are 2-2 vs them now

So now we are moving it to UGA?

At this point, I am more than happy with the success are return to status he has us at right now. And the recruiting class is looking great as well.

AND if this year is a bust?
So what - playoff last year, most wins in 5 yrs since Fulmer, 2 wins against Bama and Florida, beat LSU, Beat Clemson, Bowl eligible every year, only one year less than 9 wins( that was his first and we were still bowl eligible), national relevance, and multiple draft picks on a yearly basis……. Just for giggles why does he not deserve this extension

So you would just let the contract run out and let him walk once it ends if he doesn’t beat UGA?
Put him on notice he has to produce a win against them by end of contract and sayonara if not done. If he can't do it get somebody in here who can. I'm tired of UT pretending to be contenders when we're not competitive with a team in our conference.

The linked to thread on VolQuest from On3's twitter post starts with "no increase".

Not subbed there so that's the extent of what I saw. It'd be strange if there were no raise, but can't think of any other reason to type "no increase" in relation to a contract.

No increase? Interesting. Holding is the right move for White on this one. Heupel has to take another step to warrant a raise IMO.

Remy has the right idea although I wouldn't tie it to a particular opponent. UT has always had that one team that had our number. Bama, UF and now UGA. I agree with him that he's got to get us higher to warrant a raise especially at his current salary. Even though it's year 5, he will get a grace year this season due to Nico's antics, but I think it's time he's held responsible for his roster and staff starting next year. Both are his creations.

Btw, that gif won't cut it with me. I'm a 7 decade vol fan who has been hardened and always trains for following UT sports....

Good thing you aren’t Danny White and I guess you were more happy from 2007 to 2020. The last I checked most everybody had had issues with Georgia lately. Josh has done an outstanding job after being handed Pruitt’s 💩 show and the extension is well deserved. Period.

Too small and restrictive. Prostates dictate quick and simple access. Yeah....TMI, but the young bucks on the board need to learn to appreciate youth while they have it. Most definitely gonna change for the worse.
Now this is one time I will agree with you. Father Time waits on no one when it comes to that subject. When you get to a certain age (let’s say 60 for grins), there are two choices. Either you’ve already had prostate issues or you will have at some point. (My doctor told me that if you live long enough, sooner or later you’ll have issues with it.) My advice to every man is to get checked early. It can save your life.

UGA had to get rid of a ten year Richt that routinely produced 9 and 10 win seasons was a recruiting beast but couldn't get it done for a NC. I want Heupel to get us there. I'm not pulling against him, I hope he gets it done. But quit producing guys that live off of us for 5 or ten years with these extensions that cannot even get in the stadium to play for a national title. UT should never have a team our HC cannot produce a win against in conference. Right now, Heupel needs to show me the money on his existing contract and get it done or get it gone for somebody who can.
