112 and 114 is a far cry from 200+ rushing and 100+ receiving, he’s talented but he’s not close to elite, our D and the refs not calling ANY holding made him look that way though.

Fumbles were both the running backs faults, missing receivers is on him but he played better last night than he has in a lot of games we’ve won minus the pick 6 that he telegraphed

From a loyal 30 year old Tennessee fan; living in Alabama since day 1…. We are blessed to have Gus results… we’ve been **** half my life. I fell in love with football during the UT Title run and never quit loving Orange and White; but you act like we should be furious with Gus results after the previous decade plus?

We have some soft players. We have some bad coaches; BUT the football you’ve seen the last two years has been the most exciting since I was in middle school?

Unless you have an agenda the history says this year is the one that doesn’t match history and last year was normal. Not the other way around.

This is the coach who once hung 50 plus points on Tennessee while OC for Mizzou.

I dont necessarily have a specific complaint. My point is I am not sold on Heupel yet and push back on those who think they know for sure Heupel is our guy.

Heupel has to do something here that he has never done and what most coaches cant do and that is resurrect a down and out program in the toughest conference in America and build that program to sustainably compete for SEC titles.

Obviously he has shown he can do it for one year, but can he build a program that competes more years than it doesnt.

Also, Butch Jones finished 2nd in the East 2 years in a row. Then what happened? He failed to build the program. He couldnt sustain it.

Am I comparing the 2? Absolutely not. Heupel is a much better coach. However, it is a cautionary comparison in program building that Heupel has to avoid.

Let me help ya out young'n. Yes we're better now. But the last 15-20 years was the worst period in our program's history-by far. It's a terrible comparison. So please don't be content with 'we're better now than we were'.

For the record, I like Heupel. In 3 years he's exceeded my expectations. But call me crazy, I expect to compete for championships because that's what I've seen. Last night showed me a concerning trend that seems to be developing.

This is what I was responding to.
It’s more than likely that he will based on his history.
As to the rest…..Hypel is already responsible for 2 of the best 5 records in the last 20 years.
I’d say that he’s not gonna be on any hot seats for a while

I think it would be interesting to identify some coaches who took over a historically good college football program which was coming off a decade plus of being down, in a major conference, and rebuilt that program back into one that competes at a high level.

I completely agree with your desire for championships; but look who CJH has to choose from. The guy is playing with limited talent due to massive amounts of transfers that left UT before he started. He’s trying to keep us competitive… we just don’t have the depth to keep up with top programs.

Nico’s junior year will be year 5 for CJH. He will have his players in place and ZERO excuses. We thought we were bare the last two years.. look at what we lost to the draft those years…

If I’m CJH, Milton starts and finishes GA game no matter what; but if we lose by more than 10-14 points we have to prepare for next year. Nico is in finishes the season vs Vandy and Bowl Opponent. We are losing a TON of seniors this year; but honestly, maybe 5-6 affect the actual talent of the team. These next 3 games I think we see some young, hungry kids step up and set the precedent for the future.

We probably largely agree. He has earned no hot seat until we see where his program is at the finish of 2025. Unless next year is worse than anyone imagines, then starting 25 may be pretty hot.
